Wonderfully hand painted Limoge covered biscuit jar. This fine cream colored French porcelain jar is hand painted with large dramatic white flowers on a very thorny green branch. The flower petals are out lined in red and have yellow centers. Both the scalloped raised rim and small top handle are gilded. Marked for the fine Frech porcelain maker, Tressemann & Vogt (T & V) and initialed by the artist, CES on both the base and lid. Good original condition with wear to the gilding. The border of the pot and the lid have gold gilt decoration and the lid shows the "Moorish" influence that was popular in this Period. High quality French porcelain, this late Victorian gem is fully marked with the Tressemann & Vogt mark # 4a. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate.
