Pair of Documented Gill Art Deco Sconces This pair of sconces came from the Artisan Line that Gill Glass and Fixture Company of Philadelphia produced during the 1930s. This Artisan Line was in their catalog #23 which showed a total of ONLY three items in the line. There were two five-light chandeliers (only difference was the stems for long and short hanging), and two three-light chandeliers (again, only difference was the stems for long and short hanging), and these neat sconces. The metal body is Aluminum, and finished in an Art Deco pewter finish. The shades are a very light amber, and big for the Art Deco period. Measurements: * Height: 9" * Width: 6 ½" (maximum) * Projection: 6 ¼" from the wall into the room. Pair of Scarce Williamson Sconces Circa 1930 Just a lovely pair of iconic sconces made by Williamson...later bought by Beardslee...from the Circa 1930 period. These sconces...and the other lights of that suite...are some of the least-survivable slip shade fixtures made during the 30s. The shades were such thin glass that they just could not hold up to much abuse. Therefore...frames are more common...shades, not so much. From the Beardslee Catalog #46, which was copyrighted in 1932 by the Beardslee Chandelier Mfg Co, the suite is listed on pages 34 and 35 as: Williamson Shade-Lyte Series 60 (with these sconces being stock number 061). Information courtesy of the Kelly Art Deco Light Museum. The backplates are original polychrome color that was called Modern Gold. The shades are egg shell thin, and while one shows a bit more use than the other, still a very nice offering of scarce sconces. The lighting of these sconces are from the top down...instead of down-to-up, as most Deco fixtures were. Measurements: * Height: 13" overall. * Width: 6 ¾" (backplate) * Projection: 5" from the wall into the room. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs. American 1930s Pair of Art Deco Double Arm Candle Sconces Outstanding pair of Art Deco sconces, circa 1930 with screaming Deco design. Here we have an original antique in a complete, unique, pair of iconic Art Deco double sconces. The Art Deco motif on the backplates and arms are really quite pronounced, and so typical of the era and design. The backplates are cast iron, with a red-bronze finish. Deco 5 Shade Clam Shell Chandelier by Mid-West Art Deco Mid-West Streamline design five-light chandelier, with great clam shell slip shades. From the 1930s. Mid-West was an outstanding company that survived the Great Depression that took many companies out. They had a standard that they never lowered, and the resulting work shows just that. They were clever, too. They used this clam shell shade for two totally different lines. The first line catered to the Victorian tastes, with curvilinear lines and motifs. The second line embraced the new Art Deco Streamline movement of which, this chandelier is a prime example of their Streamline series. (Information courtesy of the Kelly Art Deco Light Museum.) This fine light has mixed metal finishes of polished metal contrasting with a rich old gold finish. The shades are simply fantastic. No damage at all, and have extremely rich colors. Fantastic Set of NINE Art Deco Sconces Circa 1928-32. Nice original Art Deco design nine sconces with a finish that is truly original, and simply a lovely contrast of earth colors. There is some variation...but very little differences. We have never had this many matching antique sconces in such good condition, and with such earthy tones. Measurements: * Height: 13 ½" (including the bulb) * Width: 4 ½" * Projection: 5" from the wall into the room. These sconces, we think, look best with the candle bulbs as shown, but perhaps not to everyone's taste. The socket is a normal medium base socket and can accept any bulb thereof. All sconces were completely re-wired to UL standards in our UL shop, with new sockets, lead wire, and new wax drip motif candle sleeves, as the original sleeves were simply brittle and falling apart. Mounting kits will be supplied. Antique Original 6 Shade Chandelier with Bronze Finished Frame Outstanding original antique six light chandelier, circa 1935-37. Very clean with Streamline décor, it is a hard-to-find Art Deco Streamline chandelier. In GREAT condition too. This six shade version was always the Top-of-the-Line for any series, so when you see this chandelier, you have the best of this interesting, and hard to find, Art Deco series. The finish of the bronze-finished iron frame is very nice. It has lovely contrasts, as hopefully the pictures show. Measurements: * Height: 28" from the ceiling to the bottom of the finial. * Diameter: 18" from shade tip to shade tip. This chandelier has been rewired in our UL shop, and it still has the ambiance of a 1930s light. Six new high-end sockets, with wiring, were installed.
