Original older PAIR of chandeliers with an original antique BRASS hi/lo finish. We believe the original maker was French since it had European sockets in them when obtained. We changed to American standard medium base sockets to use our normal bulbs. The contrast of the BRASS body is quite striking. These chandeliers have a rich formality, and yet just have so much good detail. As mentioned, these chandeliers have been completely re-wired in our UL shop. Original older chandelier with an original antique BRASS hi/lo finish. We believe the original maker was French since it had a European socket in the chandelier when we acquired it. The contrast of the BRASS body is quite striking. This chandelier has a rich formality, and yet just has so much good detail. The chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop. We installed a mogul based porcelain socket which takes the large bulbs. We did this so we could use our round induction bulb 40W-E39-01. It uses only 40 watts, but produces the equivalent of over 200 watts of incandescent lighting power. Of course, you could just replace this induction bulb with a mogul based incandescent bulb or use an adapter...which we can supply...to reduce it to a medium base socket for all other bulbs. We will give you the existing induction bulb with the purchase of the fixture. Many bulb options to choose from here. Original Antique Cast Composition Plaster Edwardian Ceiling Bowl Light Fixtures At the turn of the century, there was a continued serious move to design fancier and fancier theaters, restaurants, and financial institutions. A fast method to mimic classical Greek and Roman carved marble magnificence was fine plaster work. Workers were often imported from Europe for their skilled working with molds and structures that graced historical buildings there. This was a true artistic craft that has since been mostly lost. During its heyday, though, American workers also learned these skills and produced some equally fantastic items all on their own. Even today, as companies of conscience restore the plaster work in historical buildings, we marvel at the beauty and wonderful effect of a simple moldable material that can achieve such beauty when manipulated by a skilled craftsperson. During this time, lovely cast industrial plaster chandeliers were also produced to match the like columns and friezes that adorned elaborate interiors. This group of ANT-504 are such fixtures. Naturally, being made the way they were, most did not survive the misguided modernization process...being dropped from the ceilings and destroyed on impact...or they were simply scrapped as old fashion. A shame really...but so antiques and our history goes. Fortunately, we have EIGHT of these matching chandeliers from an estate in New Rochelle, New York. (Update: SOLD OUT) While they do show their age with slight bumps and bruises, they are still very unique antiques that deserve to be re-installed in historic buildings for a great indirect lighting affect. We have restored them to their original antique-gold finish. This is NOT the garish European gold, but the original American finish, which had a bit of black and red there-in. It is a muted affect that is original. And yes, our mold maker (who makes our plaster medallions), did make some structural improvements on a case-by-case basis. They look good. Measurements: Diameter: Slightly over 24" Height: 38" from the ceiling to the bottom of the finial. Hang height can be adjusted to various lengths for your project. Please contact us for pricing. These are NOT lightweight chandeliers. These chandeliers were used in manor homes, commercial buildings, and theaters, as well as other places where strong INDIRECT light was desired, instead of light bulbs glaring down at you. The image inside the bowl shows 6 medium base, normal E26 sockets on 3/8nps pipe...all of which...are original. We have only changed the final porcelain socket face to make them UL approved and safe after all these years. Of course they have all been re-wired in our UL shop. You note the undersize bulbs in place. For pictures only. We estimate that each socket could contain a 300 watt bulb, or even a touch larger. With new LED technology, large corn bulbs could also be used to great affect. For California, we could wire for GU-10 or G24 bulbs to comply with Title 24. Just needs a bit of thought. We have completed two out of the eight bowls we have, and the remainder could be finished in 10 days if multiples are desired. ANT-514 Large Gothic Cast Iron and Steel 6 Light Chandelier Very nice iron 6 light chandelier from the turn-of-the-century...circa 1920 or so. Hard to date accurately, but the quality and original cloth wiring helped us. Heavy and well made. We have restored the electrics completely with new sockets and wiring to UL standards, and this chandelier is ready to be hung. You just supply the bulbs of your choice. All the original antique crackle amber glass is in near-mint condition. These fantastic shades are one-at-a-time, hand-blown, amber shades. Each shade was handmade with mouth-blown glass by a skilled glass artist. NONE of the shades will precisely match each other since they ARE craft person created. Such is the way of art glass blown shades that are free blown instead of blown into a mold. Very close, of course, and simply...lovely! The Old Gold finished frame is the original finish, and is in nice condition with just the right amount of patina. Measurements: Diameter: 20" wide across the points. Height: 29" Each fixture contains FIVE light bulbs. Four sockets light the side panels. The fifth socket is directed downward to light the bottom crackle glass window, and add a little extra emphasis to the smaller side windows. The very bottom window is actually an access door for changing the light bulbs, and contains a different glass than the side panels. ANT-523 American Bronze and Brass 17 Light Foyer or Entrance Way Chandelier Exceptional quality is definitely here. A bronze frame from circa 1910 to 1930 is arranged for 16 lights around the periphery, with one light in the center. This light is simply gorgeous, and gives an ambiance that is hard to find. In addition to the nice red bronze frame, the panels are light amber Mica, which adds such a nice ambiance. Measurements: * Height: 54" tall, but can be shortened or lengthened for project requirements. * Width: 39" outside bulb to outside bulb. This fixture has been totally re-wired in our UL shop, and will have the UL label as such. New sockets and wire were installed. 16 medium base sockets, with ONE medium based socket in the center. Each socket can accommodate a light bulb up to 100 watts. We chose the G30 light bulb with opal finish for this chandelier, which has an output of 40 watts each. The middle socket has the same G30 bulb installed there (as we see this as an accent Mica focal point), but it can be changed to other types of bulbs for different results, including large corn cob LED bulbs for a larger lighting power potential. There are bulbs with higher wattages, but we thought 16 bulbs yielding 640 watts of lighting might be best for most applications. Naturally, the bulb in the center is really an accent for the Mica panels...so we discounted its output for general lighting contribution. Circa 1920, the design motifs are plentiful and well executed. The castings are so beautiful, with lots of pierced parts which are...were...so hard to do, as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor variations, and is predominantly dark with highlights. There are faces, and curls, and Gothic motifs. A plethora of design in this exciting ten light chandelier.
