Unusual antique Neo-Rococo 6 light French chandelier, circa 1900. The brass is the typical French acid finish ormolu look which was so popular during the Victorian era in France. The chandelier is a swan arm motifs. Originally, this chandelier was made for French electrical sockets when we received it. We have rewired it to UL standards, and replaced the French sockets with common household medium base sockets. We think it came out well. We also installed our hand-cut crystal shades which were typical of the early gas period having the scarce 2 5/8” fitter instead of the later 2 1/4” or 4”. Normally during this period you could get chandeliers either as candle tubes or with shades. Measurements: The chandelier height is 36”. Large antique five-light bronze chandelier with original prisms, dating from the 19th century. This stunning chandelier begins in a bronze canopy with petal and beaded trim, coming down in chain to a decorative loop finial. A glass baluster body runs the length of the chandelier with delicate bronze bands curling out. The bands and body are draped with garlands of faceted glass beads and smooth teardrop prisms, creating a sparkling waterfall effect. As the elongated chandelier extends down, five bronze branch-like chandelier arms reach out to support beaded disc bobeches that are hung with heavy teardrop prisms. The chandelier finishes in a flourish of draped garlands and a large, sleek globe prism. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it was originally gas but has been professionally wired for electricity and comes with all necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 22-1/4” wide and 40-1/4” tall, and the fixture is 52-1/4” long overall.   « Less

Really quite lovely. Here we have a fine French chandelier by Ezan that just demonstrates the variations of the Art Deco design in one lovely fixture. Circa 1920-30, it is truly a lovely chandelier. The shades are really quite unique. Heavy cast glass, with heavy embossed designs. Added to those lovely shades are the lovely drips of glass down the body of the chandelier, and you can see the design excellence we can see from Erté. This chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new American sockets and all new wire. There are three candelabrum sockets within the center bowl, so the light peeks out of the side windows and illuminates the bottom shade. The five shades around the center bowl are also wired with American candelabrum sockets built inside the original French/British style B-22 pin socket housing. Kinda clever...so now we can use the original shades without any noticeable difference at all. Measurements: The overall chandelier height is 31”. The maximum width (including the shades) is 29”. Price for the chandelier is “only” $1,925.00 plus careful packing and shipping. I say “only” because if you have done some chandelier shopping elsewhere, you will know that some folks are asking upwards of $3,000 for a fixture of this type, and often, not as nice as this one. We’re more realistic and believe that fair pricing is best. This chandelier is fragile and cannot be easily disassembled, so unfortunately, Ground shipping is out of the question. Fine Streamline Art Deco six light chandelier by Markel Electric Products, Buffalo, New York. Circa 1935-37. This was absolutely “top-of-the-line” for this Streamline series, being a six light fixture and having elements of bakelite for the center stem and bottom finial. A very nice and unusual touch. This nice chandelier is finished in the “Venetian Bronze” finish (as Markel called it). It was available either in this nice bronze finish or nickel plated during the 1930's. Nice original finish and shades...and now...re-wired to current UL standards by our lamp department. The shades, due to their age, do show a slight variation here and there but all in all...super condition for the age and life they have been through. Ready to go and lovely. A very nice Gothic style late Edwardian chandelier, circa 1920. It does not have the over-the-top churchy look, but a nice subtle medieval motif which, we believe, is quite charming. The simple amber glass shades shelter the bulbs and completely release the heat. Totally re-wired in our UL shop, and will be supplied with all the mounting hardware necessary to install it immediately without further shopping...except for light bulbs. Note the two colors of metal on the fixture, both nickel and brass finishes off-setting each other. Very striking. The finish does have some minor thinning here and there as any good antique does....but it also has a nice mellow appearance and most antiquers would not touch this lovely aged finish. This light has been totally rewired as well, with five new sockets and a new main stem wire. This chandelier was made by Mid-West Mfn, Kansas City KS, from their "Chesterton" Series, circa 1938. Nice design for the more streamline design motif of the 1936 deco era. Sears Changed the name to "Mellow-Glow" for their 1938 Lightmaster Catalog. The chandelier has an old gold finish with nickel accents. Very striking. This fixture could be lengthened or shortened by adding/subtracting chain links. The chandelier has been totally rewired with high grade sockets and new central lead wire. Sockets are UL approved for up to 100 watts each. Please Note: incandescent bulbs no higher than 60 to 65 watts are recommended, due to the heat emitted from the higher wattages which can potentially damage old glass shades. If more light is necessary, energy efficient bulbs such as compact fluorescents or LED bulbs can be used. These emit more light with less heat. Measurements: •Height: 24” tall with the two chain links as shown. Can be shortened another inch by removing one of the links. •Spread: 19” diameter. Comes complete with shades and ready to hang.
