Wonderful coin silver gravy ladle in Gorham's unusual Bust pattern. Approximately 8 3/4" long. Approximately 4 troy ounces. No monogram. Gilt bowl. This beautiful piece was retailed by the prestigious Bailey Company of Philadelphia. circa 1860. The bust is of a woman with what looks like a crown on her head. Marks include the Gorham logo of the lion, anchor and G and BAILEY & Co. Very good condition.   « Less

Two wonderfully executed watercolor paintings by listed artist, George Harlow White, 1817-1888. This watercolor is c.1857. On the back of the painting of the farmhouse the artist wrote in pen, "Askham Richard, York 1857, G. Harlow White". Each measures approximately 3 1/4" x 5" WITHOUT the frame and matting. WITH the frame and matting they measure 7 1/2" x 9 1/4". One painting depicts a thatched roof farmhouse. There are two women. One is standing in the doorway while the other is working outside. There are chickens in the foreground. The other shows a person sitting at the base of a hill. They are not signed on the front. The first picture that I described is signed on the back, G. Harlow White. George Harlow White was a member of the RCA. He also painted in England. Askam Richard is a parish in York, England, that hasn't changed much since the 18th century. Of the farmhouses and cottages around the green, five are listed buildings, mostly 18th century. By 1931 the population was still a modest 181, and Askham Richard has continued to avoid the expansion seen in many other villages. Very good condition.   « Less

Wonderful sterling silver bon bon spoon by Tiffany & Company of New York, NY. The pattern is called Holly and is highly collectible. Approximately 3 3/4" long and the bowl measures 1 3/4" x 2 1/4". Monogrammed in the bowl with 1860 S 1910. Marks include the square M which was used from 1875-1891, TIFFANY & CO, STERLING and the number 957. It has a gilt bowl with a little roughness on the left side. Very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful Tiffany sterling silver kidney shaped serving spoon. Approximately 9 1/2" long. Monogrammed with an M on the back of the handle. This piece was made to serve berries. Marks include TIFFANY & CO, STERLING, Pat. 1878 There is a monogram on the back of the letter M. Marks include TIFFANY & CO, STERLING, Pat. 1878 and the letter T. The letter T was used between 1891-1902. There are 17 different motifs listed in a Tiffany brochure c.1880. This serving spoon has motif number 4, Venus born of the sea, is drawn in her shell by dolphins driven by Cupid, who bears the laurel branch. On the back are the emblems of love - the myrtle, quiver, doves, torches and the burning heart. Very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful marine watercolor painting by William Frederick Paskell. Approximately 28 1/2" x 37 1/2" WITH the frame and matting. WITHOUT the frame it measures approximately 18 1/4" x 27 1/4". Signed lower left, "Wm. Paskell". Paskell is a listed American artist, 1866-1951. William Frederick Paskell was born in England on Oct. 5, 1866. He studied in Boston MA under JF DeBlois & Sanderson. He exhibited at the Boston Art Club & the Charitable Mechanics Association in Boston, 1884-1906. He worked in Cape Ann, Nantucket and New Hampshire. He travelled to Europe in the late 1880's. Died in Boston MA in 1951. He is well listed in Who's Who and Fieldings. Very good condition. Nicely framed and ready for hanging.   « Less

George Linton Herdle, American, born 1868 and died in 1922. He was a museum director, craftsperson & painter from Rochester, NY. He studied in Paris and Holland and was a member of the Rochester Art Club, Rochester Municipal Art Committee, Association Art Museum Director. He exhibited at the Boston Art Club in 1873; PAFA, 1906; AIC, 1907, 1911; Corcoran Gallery, 1908 & 1910. Very good condition.   « Less

Gorgeous mountain landscape oil painting on canvas by Samuel Lancaster Gerry. Approximately 21" x 29" WITHOUT the frame. WITH the frame it measures 26 1/2" x 34 1/2". Signed GERRY 1852 lower right. This painting depicts a wonderful mountain landscape with buildings by a lake. It has a waterfall, mountain goats, sheep, a cow, boats on the water, 2 gentlemen riding on horseback and a young girl walking a goat. Samuel Lancaster Gerry, American, 1813-1891. He was President of the Boston Art Club in 1858. He was a Hudson River School painter and leader of the White Mountain School. He was co-founder of the Boston Art Club. He lived in Europe. His specialties are landscapes, Italy, castles, rivers, fishermen and boats. Gregor's Beaux Arts Gallery, 32 Millberry St., Hartford 3, Conn. lable on back. Frame may not be original to painting. Lovely handpainted Russian black lacquer box. Approximately 1" tall 3 3/4" deep and 4 3/4" long. The painting of two masked sailing ships sailing on calm waters with a mountain range and a wonderful sunset in the distance. The box is artist signed and dated. The artist signature appears to be C. Fenocknno and is dated 2000. I was informed me that Fedoskino is one of the four main villages for russian lacquer boxes. So it is possible that it was made there. It also has the place of the the painting wich appears to be Monohnnio. Very Good condition.   « Less
