Windsor Sack Back Armchair. Old; worn light-reddish wood finish.. Woods. The bowed crest rail is over seven long, slightly swelled spindles continuing through a flat medial rail that extends to form flat shaped arms over two additional spindles and canted ring and baluster-turned arm supports. Davenport Desk. Original dark finish; black and brass. Wood ;brass and leather. The desk has a slanted front, with a black leather writing surface, that lifts up to open a large storage compartment. It has a lock and an exterior brass keyhole escutcheon. Above is a long drawer, with lock and two triangular brass pulls, and two side compartments, with triangular brass pulls. Above this is a roll-top compartment containing double grooved pen slots and two compartments for inkwells. The lower front of the desk is outlined with molding and the upper desk is support on each side by scrolled brackets that extend forward under the writing surface and compartment. The desk rests on four bun feet on wooden rollers. The left side of the desk has graduated false drawers with brass pulls in a Chinese cut out design. The right side has four graduated drawers with matching brass pulls, brass keyholes and locks.   « Less

Three-part Screen. Black; gold leaf; white. Paper; wood; brass. The three panels are held with double brass hinges and are covered with heavy black paper. Each of the three panels are hand painted in white and gold leaf with black outlines. The central design is a large torch with wings which is encircled with an olive branch wreath. Beneath the torch is a swag of leaves wrapped with ribbon and tied with bows at each end. Each paned is outlined with a white line, one inch from the edge. It has vase-and-ring turned stiles, ball finials, cylinder and ring-turned legs and worn, swelled vase-and-ring turned double front stretchers.
