For Auction is a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Forest" and the shape can be called a Planter, Jardinière, or Squat Vase. The Planter stands 4 1/2" tall and is 5 1/2" wide at the rim and 4 1/4" at the bottom.
The Planter displays one of the most detailed mold Crispness I have ever seen on a Weller Forest item. Not only is the Mold Crisp but the Glaze Colors are equally as nice. The Jardinière displays a wonderful Forest Scene of Trees with lots of Foliage and a Waterfall in the background that forms a small stream snaking through the forest. The trees are done in a matt brown glaze and the Foliage in a matte green. The water is done in an ever pleasing light and dark matt blue glaze. The detail is just outstanding. The inside has a Blende Olive and Moss Green glaze and is very clean inside. The Planter sits up on 4 small horizontally raised feet on the bottom.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned as is common with this pattern. There are some signs of minimal wear to the bottom of the feet. The Weller Forest Pattern is very popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. This is a better than excellent example and I'm sure the lucky buyer will be very pleased with their purchase.
This piece was made during Weller's Middle Period, Circa 1918-1935.

For sale I have a Wonderful Piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. What I have is a Jardinière and it is done in one of Weller's Most More »
For sale I have a Wonderful Piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. What I have is a Jardinière and it is done in one of Weller's Most Popular Glazes or Lines. The Glaze is known "Woodcraft". and some Weller Collectors call this "Muskota". The Jardinière is rather large as it stands Flower Frog stands 5 3/4" tall and is 7 3/8" in diameter from the Fox Cubs nose..
The Jardinière depicts 3 Fox Cubs hanging out of a Tree Trunk hole or Den in an Oak Tree. They are nestled together peeking out of a Black hole inside the tree. The piece displays wonderful earth tone glazes of Matte Brown and Green. The detail is just wonderful as the background is sculpted to look like real bark on a Oak Tree as well as the Three Fox Cubs. The side and back of the Jardinière shows wonderful detailed Oak Leaves. The Fox Cubs are done in raised relief and have very good detail and are not distorted like I have seen on other Weller Fox Cub pieces.
The Jardinière is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The inside is extremely clean and shows minor signs of use. The piece is not signed on the bottom but there is a large letter "H" written in a Black Marker or Glaze. This was more than likely the finishers mark. I also noticed some pencil writing on the bottom Glaze. It looks like it says a name that I cannot make out and I can see a second work with a large W. This could Possible be the W in Weller Pottery but not sure. This line carried a paper label and was rarely marked.
Those of you who collect Weller's Woodcraft and Muskota Line know exactly what you are looking at and I'm sure you will welcome this one into your collection. I guarantee this Jardinière to be made by The Weller Pottery Company. This is one of the Rarer of the Woodcraft Muskota pieces to own. This Jardinière would look just wonderful on that Stickley. Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Bookcase. This piece was made Circa 1917-1928. « Less

For Sale is a lovely Window Box Planter imported by P.H. Leonard of New York from the Count Thun porcelain factory in Klasterec, Czech Republic. The planter is oblong and measures 4 5/8" tall, 10" long and is 5 1/2" deep.
The Planter displays Daisies in full bloom all around the top that are accented by the Gold gilt rim. The daisies appear to grow out of a field of grass and you can faintly see their delicate stems. There is a waterproof clear glaze on the interior of the piece so it can be put to use. This planter would look lovely with an Ivy or any other plant proudly displayed on your windowsill or for a table centerpiece.
The Planter is bisque with no glaze over the bottom exterior so it has some staining along the outer edges that do not show when the Planter is upright. It has the Ink Stamp that reads "VIENNA AUSTRIA" that is attributed to P.H. Leonard. There is also number 42 over 13 as well as a cross type of mark. There is an impressed "TK" in block letters over this same style of a number 1 in a different area as well. They are not inked so very difficult to photograph these marks.
The Planter is considered to be in Very Good to Excellent Condition as there are no chips, cracks, nicks or dings. There is minimal loss around the top edge gold accents as this planter was previously used. It does not detract from the beauty of this window box however I have priced this piece moderately due to the wear.
The Planter was made Circa 1890-1908. « Less

For Sale is a lovely piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Jardiniere, Planter or Vase and the Pattern Line is called "Matt Color" or "Ivory". The Jardiniere measures 3 5/8" tall and is 6 3/4" in diameter oputside handles measurement. The opening of this planter is 4 1/8" in diameter inside measurement and 5 1/8" outside rim diameter.
The Planter displays a squat form with a wide rim that is further accented with 2 delicate looped handles. The Jardiniere has a smooth Satin Matte White Glaze. The Jardiniere has a raise circular ring in the neck of the vessel. It would also look great with an African Violet or small plant inserted with another pot as a liner. There were several colors done in this line by Roseville. It is known as Shape number 550-4" in the Roseville Catalog Pages.
The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. It would make an excellent starter piece for a collector or simply a nice addition to someone who collects Matte Color. The piece is signed with the "Roseville" incised signature mark along with its mold number 550-4.
This Planter was made Circa 1920-1925. « Less

For Sale is a lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Pinecone" and it is done in their highly collected More »
For Sale is a lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Pinecone" and it is done in their highly collected and most Popular Blue background glaze. This Pattern is one of Roseville's most desirable to collect. The Jardiniere stands 4 1/8" tall and is 6 3/8" in diameter outside handles measurement. The inside rim of the Jardiniere measurements are 4 1/8" in diameter.
The Jardiniere has a very pleasing Blue to speckled white background Glaze with the Background behind the Pine Needles being in the lighter speckled glaze. The piece depicts very realistic handles in the form of branches joined to a Pine Cone with Green Needles protruding from the Cone. The Pine Cone itself has very nice detail done in a light brown glaze color. The inside of the bowl is very clean and shows a tan to light brown glaze.
This was Frank Ferrell's most popular design that he ever created while working at The Roseville Pottery Company. In fact, the company would have had to close it doors if it wasn't for the success of this line. The Pinecone line was considered the most Popular Line ever made at Roseville Pottery and that is still evident today. There are 4 colors that Pinecone was made and they are Blue, Brown, and Green and Pink. Pink Commands the Highest Price and is Rarely seen. Blue Commands the next highest price with Brown and Green not too far behind.
The Jardiniere is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks nicks, chips or dings. The Vase is signed with the incised "Roseville" mark along with the pattern number 632-4" which is also incised. There is also a number 6 and large letter T lighting incised below the mold number. There is also the letter "N" or the number "2" depending how you look at it on the bottom. This is written in a blue glaze or grease pencil. More than likely this was the finishers number or Artist Initial.
This is a quality piece of art pottery that will be a wonderful addition to any art pottery collection, especially those of you who collect Roseville Blue Pinecone. This Vase was made Circa 1935-1940. « Less

For Sale is a nice piece of pottery made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Tourmaline" and the shape is a Low Bowl or could also be used as a Bulb Planter. The Bowl measures approximately 2 3/4" tall and is 7 7/8" in diameter at the widest part or belly of the bowl. The inside rim of the bowl of measures 6 1/8" wide.
The Bowl displays a wonderful mottled pink glaze at the bottom half of the vessel that softly blends into a pastel sage green toward the rim that is also mottled. The interior of the bowl is also mottled green that was evenly applied. The shape is very versatile and can be used in many different decors. This particular glaze combination works best with Art Deco however can also be used in an Arts and Crafts decor. This would be stunning holding your decorated Easter Eggs and show off some Spring colors. The mottles of the green glaze appear soft and puffy like cotton candy and the pink portion appears to be more of a sponged application for a very nice affect.
The Bowl is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is one pin pop on the interior of the bowl but do not detract from the beauty or value of this hard to find glaze combination. The piece is extremely clean and appears to have never been used.
The bowl is unsigned but guaranteed to be vintage Roseville. It is shown in the books to be shape number A152-6. The A signifies that this shape was used in an earlier line from Roseville which would have been Carnelian 1 and can be found in the "Roseville In All Its Splendor". This pattern is from Roseville's Middle Period and introduced Circa 1933. « Less
