This antique wood inlaid miniature piano shaped jewelry or trinket box is 12-1/4" x 7-1/2" x 5-1/2" high. I believe the wood is walnut with bone inlay for the keys and the keyhole. I do not have the key. The bottom of the inside is lined with a faded wine colored paper, and the top is lined in a similarly colored faded wine velvet, which is intact. The box stands on five exquisitely turned legs which mimic the look of a full sized piano. The box dates to the 19th century. The condition is very good, but not perfect. The wood grain is fine and rich and adds to the design. The inlay for the piano keys and the keyhole is all present. There is minor splitting in the wood on the top, and the edge trim on the top right hand corner near the keys has a small nick. When the box is closed, there is a slight gap, which may indicate a slight warp in the top. The lock seems to be attached on the inside with nails which are not original. Still, the bottom of the box seems to be hand planed. I have attempted to reveal all the minor faults on this unusual and delightful antique box. I believe that it is in good condition for its age. I also believe that it will bring joy to its next owner. It would be an ideal gift for someone who plays piano. this absolute gorgeous ormolu brass jewelry box , designed with round beveled amber gold crystals surroundings. hinged, with filigree motion, leaves interfacing one another, beautiful decorated flap. the workmanship is impeccable. intricate, slightly curved foot, openwork, soft gold (antiqued). in stunning condition, all in tact and sturdy. the interior is designed diagonally in beautiful velvet gold, with sweet golden miniature nails triangularly highlighted the resting nest. cant' say enough of this beauty which will lighten up your dresser, vanity or vitrines. presumably from about 1940's closer to art deco era. from the surface to the top measuring 5" tall. base is 5" diameter, and the top is 4.75" diameter not including the flap part. it has impeccable interior filigree open work holdings behind the beveled secured amber round glasses/crystals, with detailed oriented elaborated heart style framing. price reduced significantly! direct purchase from http://www.designeruniquefinds.com   « Less

Nice little jewellery box, black morocco leather-clad with gilded band to the lid. Interior has russet silk inside lid, and russet velvet lining to the compartments. Ring slot, ladies pocket watch circle, and lift-out top tray. Box measures 7 cm high by 13 cm wide and 10 cm deep. Dates from around 1900-1915. Very good condition for the age. - some minor scuffing, and some pin-marks in the silk where brooches would have been fastened.   « Less

Made as a chest of drawers, this jewellery box has a hinged top inside which are ring slots and two other partitions for jewellery. The rear of the chest has hooks for necklaces. When the lid is opened, the necklaces come into view - they move down the slot when the lid is closed. The front of the chest has three further drawers in which to store jewellery. Antique Treen : Unusual Miniature / Apprentice Piece Chest of drawers C.1820+ A wonderful Antique Miniature Apprentice Piece Chest of Drawers of unusual shallow proportions with an inlaid disc to the top of four drawers - a lovely Miniature piece of furniture Circa : early 19th century Good Overall Antique Condition - untouched and uncleaned - at some point there were labels on each drawer front which are no longer present (here the screw holes from the labels has been filled and coloured looks like a long time ago) there is also a small piece of beading missing on the side and a little loss on the front right side under the drawers all very easy little jobs to do but please see images 11.5 inches (29.5cm) width X 3.5 inches (9cm) depth X 11 inches (28cm) height approx   « Less
