In this particular bow front chest, the wood is distressed, finished and polished all by hand to produce an incredibly rich complexion and grain that are complemented quite beautifully by antiqued brass hardware. This bow front chest also comes with optional crossbanding, which complements the principle wood type to beautiful effect.With a classic two-over-four drawer design, this bow front chest of drawers offers plenty of storage, while the top two drawers lock. This Georgian style chest is, like all of our English reproduction furniture, made with a highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail possible, and has a distinct look and feel that cannot be achieved with cheaply made imitations. The wood is an exquisite hand-distressed walnut with a rich complexion and pronounced grain. While it is new wood, the cabinetmaker has made the walnut so beautifully aged and mellow, the chest looks like a museum quality antique. The edges of the top are a border of crossbanded walnut, while this chest also features narrow satinwood string-inlay on the top as well as the drawer fronts. As such, it is handmade by a third-generation cabinetmaker, who always uses only the finest techniques and materials available. The result is a stunning bookcase with a remarkably rich mahogany complexion and grain. Of course, the striking appearance of the bookcase owes in large part to the subtle and elegant optional inlays that run up and down the face.
