A magnificent antique cast bronze entry door hardware set in the “Verocchio†pattern by Russell & Erwin. This hard-to-find set features very high quality casting and a lovely patina; the doorknobs have a very innovative threaded design that can only be removed from the inside, for extra security. The doorknob is signed with the latest patent date of 1896; the doorplate is signed R&E and includes the pattern name. The doorknobs have a radial foliate design with a flower in the center; the doorplate has an intricate leaf design at both top and bottom. This entry set includes a pair of doorknobs with the connecting spindle, a Russwin mortise lock with lock cylinder, and a large exterior doorplate, an interior escutcheon, and a thumb turn. The larger door knob is 2-1/2†diameter and 2-3/8†deep; the smaller knob is 2-1/4†diameter and 2-3/8†deep. The lock has a 2-1/2†backset, and its faceplate is 7-3/4†by 1â€. The exterior doorplate is 3†by 11-3/4â€, and the interior rosette is 2-1/8†in diameter. The lock has been carefully examined and operates smoothly.

These oversized figural door knobs feature a splendid lion surrounded by an intricately cast laurel wreath, with matching laurel wreaths on the escutcheons. The doorknobs measure 2-1/2†in diameter and 2†deep; the roses are 2-3/8†in diameter. Each set includes a pair of escutcheons and a pair of large door knobs with the connecting spindle and set screws (enough hardware for one door). A hard-to-find antique cast bronze figural rearing lion doorknob set salvaged from the Stevens Hotel in Chicago, IL, built in 1927 (now known as the Hilton Chicago). These oversized figural door knobs feature a splendid lion surrounded by an intricately cast laurel wreath, with matching laurel wreaths on the escutcheons. This particular set is very unusual in that it appears to have originally had a doorbell that functioned with a button on one of the escutcheons (pictured). The doorknobs measure 2-1/2†in diameter and 2†deep; the round rose is 2-3/8†in diameter, and the side with the button is 2-3/8†by 3-1/2â€. The set includes a pair of escutcheons and a pair of large door knobs with the connecting spindle and set screws (enough hardware for one door).

A rare pair of antique “Arabic†pocket door locks by Mallory, Wheeler, & Co., dating from the 1880’s, signed M.W. Co. These cast bronze pocket door mortise locks feature Arabic letters on a distinctive rippled background. One lock has a concave faceplate, and the other is convex, so that they fit together well when the doors are closed. The locks feature a push-button system with a pop-out handle. Each lock has a 1" x 6-5/8" faceplate, and each lock body measures 4-3/4" tall and 3-3/8" deep. The keyhole has a 2-3/8" backset.
