circa: 1901 width: 20 height: 33 length: 19 This beautiful antique mahogany pot cupboard was hand-crafted in Edwardian England around 1900. Over the years, the wood has developed a lovely patina that enriches the distinct, wispy mahogany grain and lustrous complexion; especially striking are the places where flame mahogany has been used. Solid-brass hardware forms a wonderful contrast to the mahogany, while the ridged, rolling door adds a bit of elegant texture to this antique pot cupboard. Shaped bracket feet provide sturdy support and the antique cupboard itself contains a generous amount of storage space and useful features, such as two interior cabinet sections and a fold-out top that reveals a retractable mirror and another area for storage. We believe that this antique pot cupboard was used as a bedside piece on either a train or ship because of its portability. Condition remains very good, particularly for an Edwardian antique, and the cupboard has sustained no damage beyond a slightly warped shape to the top, mirror spotting and some wear on the interior (see pictures). This Edwardian mahogany pot cupboard will function wonderfully and will continue to grow more beautiful for decades to come, so it would certainly make a wise investment for your furniture collection!   « Less

circa: 1890 width: 37 height: 41 length: 24 This beautiful solid-pine clerks desk was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890 and recently imported to our antique furniture store here in Atlanta, GA, USA. The pine displays a wonderful grain and rich complexion, both complemented by a lovely patina that will continue to grow more beautiful with each successive generation. This clerks desk provides a generous amount of storage space for its size, with two external drawers and a top that opens to reveal an interior desk space with tongue-in-groove paneling. The dark green leather, although not in the prime condition it once enjoyed over a century ago, provides a smooth, elegant writing surface that is far superior to wood, glass or metal. Each drawer features solid-brass pulls and hand-cut dovetails. They also retain brass escutcheons but these do not, unfortunately, house functioning locks and the piece does not retain the original key. Some time ago the legs were damaged and the feet were sawed off, and each leg now shows signs of that damage in the form of significant cracks and chips; nevertheless the piece remains sturdy. This elegant Victorian pine clerks desk would certainly make a fantastic addition to any home furniture collection!   « Less

circa: 1940 width: 34 height: 75 length: 20 This beautiful antique rosewood china cabinet was recently purchased at an estate auction in England and directly imported to our antique furniture store here in Atlanta, GA, USA. It dates back to about 1960 and has held up very well over the years. The wood has a nice, rich color and very subtle but consistent grain. It is complimented by inlaid satinwood, as well as painted floral patterns. Along with the inlay and painting can be found a great deal of decorative brass trim. The sides and main door of this china cabinet are made of thick, beveled glass. The cabinet door has a working lock, and the piece comes with a decorative brass key. Inside the cabinet, at the bottom can be found a small drawer for a bit of extra storage. The shelves on the interior are also made of glass and provide a clear view of the whole interior. Overall, the condition of this antique rosewood china cabinet is good.   « Less

circa: 1820 width: 49 height: 45 length: 21 This antique mahogany dresser was bench-made in England around 1820, during the Georgian period, and recently hand-restored by a team of master craftsmen before being imported to our antique furniture store here in Atlanta, GA. The mahogany and satinwood banding, having developed a lovely, two-century patina that enriches the distinct grain and complexion of the wood, looks especially beautiful because the restorers have given it a new French polish. The new solid brass hardware also contrasts quite well with the dresser and is in keeping with hardware that would have been used during the Georgian period. Indeed, the overall design of this dresser is definitively Georgian, as it is constructed in a simple yet elegant straight front design that would complement any home furniture collection.As useful as it is beautiful, this Georgian mahogany dresser was made with a traditional two-over-three drawer design, with each of the strong drawers featuring hand-cut dovetailed joints, which was a common feature in antique furniture that signified fine craftsmanship. The shaped apron and bracket feet, which are original to the dresser, also look wonderful and provide sturdy support. Because of an excellent hand-performed restoration, this Georgian mahogany dresser remains in the excellent shape it will need to be in to function beautifully for another two centuries, so take advantage of this opportunity to make it a part of your home today!   « Less
