circa: 2000 width: 84 height: 101 length: 14 This large antique style bookcase is a newly handmade reproduction originating from the shop of a third-generation cabinetmaker in England. From the materials used to the production values themselves, everything about this bookcase is of the utmost quality. The flame mahogany, for instance, displays a remarkably rich complexion and a pronounced grain that are sure to look great in any setting. Complementing the exquisite wood is not only the rustic, white painted interior, but also the solid brass, winged escutcheons, all of which house functioning locks. The astragal glass itself is quite elegant, providing a classic appearance and a clear, beautifully framed view into the interior of the bookcase. Shaped bracket feet provide sturdy support, while all shelves are fully adjustable by means of a convenient, antique style alligator bracket system. The bookcase of course disassembles into several pieces: the top moulding, the center upper section, the left and right upper sections, and the base. This is also how the bookcase will ship. « Less

circa: 1890 width: 42 height: 31 length: 20.5 A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand, but today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table some pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don''t over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. « Less

circa: 2000 width: 60 height: 31 length: 36 This antique style satinwood gillows desk is bench-made in England as a reproduction of a Georgian period antique. Every aspect of this writing desk is of the absolute highest quality. For instance, the satinwood looks great, with a nice color and very pronounced grain. Fine rosewood inlays along the drawer fronts and skirt complement the satinwood beautifully. The two locking drawers come equipped with solid brass hardware, which contrasts with the wood very nicely, and they also feature hand-cut dovetailed joints, which are a sign of fine craftsmanship. The top of this desk is a writing surface of antique style green leather bordered with embossing and hand-worked gold tooling. This desk sits on turned, fluted legs that complement the rounded corners and are also quite sturdy so there should be no concern about stability. « Less

circa: 1890 width: 29 height: 49 length: 32 This beautiful antique French amrchair was hand-crafted in France around 1890 and recently imported to our antique furniture store More »
circa: 1890 width: 29 height: 49 length: 32 This beautiful antique French amrchair was hand-crafted in France around 1890 and recently imported to our antique furniture store here in Atlanta, GA, USA. Like many antique French armchairs, this armchair is upholstered with striped floral patterns of varying hues, including red, pink, green, beige and yellow. The upholstery contrasts beautifully with the mahogany, which has aged beautifully over the years with the development of a lovely patina. In classic French style, the mahogany is intricately carved, particularly along the armrests, while the mahogany frame of this armchair is composed of turned columnar and spindle-shaped mahogany supports. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this antique French armchair is the marvelous condition that it remains in: being made in 1890, this is quite an old armchair as armchairs go, since they tend to wear out more quickly than, say, a desk, since armchairs must support the body weight of their owners. That this century-old French armchair does remain in such fantastic condition, with no damage whatsoever and no wear beyond normal fading in the upholstery, indicates not only the impressive quality of this armchair but also how well it has been taken care of. Indeed, this antique French mahogany upholstered armchair will last for decades to come, so it would certainly make a fine addition to any home or museum furniture collection! « Less

circa: 1950 width: 43 height: 29 length: 43 This beautiful antique style oak dining table was crafted in England around 1950. Over the past 60 years, the table has acquired the beginnings of a lovely patina, which enriches the distinct grain and lustrous complexion of the oak. Simple yet elegant turned legs and a sturdy x-frame provide strong support, which helps to explain why this table remains so sturdy after several decades. The simple design and moderate size mean this table can go just about anywhere and can be used either as a porch table, a game table or a dining table, depending on your needs. There is very little where to speak of beyond superficial wear consistent with the age of the table. In any case, this fine English antique style solid-oak table would make a fine addition to any home! « Less

circa: 1890 width: 41 height: 45 length: 20 This beautiful mahogany antique bow front dresser was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890 and recently hand-restored in England by a team of master craftsmen. The mahogany displays a fine, rich grain and lustrous complexion, which the rosewood banding around the bow front top accents quite wonderfully. Solid brass hardware also forms a nice contrast with the mahogany and rosewood, while the canted corners, which are also rosewood, help to give the bow front antique dresser its elegant shape. Because this antique dresser is over a century old, it has had time to develop a lovely patina, which enriches the distinct mahogany and rosewood grains and complexions, which should only continue to grow more beautiful with time. A classic two-over-three drawer design offers plenty of storage space in this dresser, with each drawer featuring hand-cut dovetailed joints. Sturdy splayed feet provide strong support. Because of the skillful restoration, this antique dresser is also in near-flawless condition. The perfect combination of antique charm and modern functionality, this mahogany antique bow front dresser would make a fantastic addition to any home furniture collection! « Less

circa: 1890 width: 35 height: 34 length: 21 This beautiful antique rosewood-banded mahogany dresser was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890 and recently restored by a third-generation English cabinetmaker. Over the years, the wood has developed a lovely patina that has come to enrich the wispy mahogany grain and warm, lustrous complexion. Complementing the mahogany is rosewood banding around the top, while this dresser also features subtle wooden knobs and sits on elegant and sturdy shaped bracket feet. Each of the three large drawers provide a generous amount of storage space and feature hand-cut dovetailed joints. Because this dresser has been restored, it retains much of its original lustre--and perhaps more, given how beautifully it has aged. There only remain a few stress marks here and there (see pictures). At a perfect size for storage as well as convenience, this rosewood-banded mahogany dresser would look great in just about any situation and it will certainly last another hundred years if cared for, so it would make a fine investment for any home furniture collection! « Less

circa: 1890 width: 24 height: 42 length: 22 This regal antique carved oak armchair was crafted in England around 1890. The oak has developed a deep patina. Midnight blue upholstery adorned with a golden unicorn add to its whimsy and charm. Carved skirting surrounds the seating. The arched back and down-turned scroll arms sit atop cabriole legs. The arched back is crowned with scroll patterns and a crown serves as its centerpiece. The solid-brass feet have a roller-ball design. The velvet is supple and luxurious with only a minor imperfection or two. The legs have been repaired several times due to woodworm damage (see pictures); therefore it no longer serves a functional purpose and is now purely decorative. Serves as an interesting part of a display or to complete the decor in a room. « Less

circa: 1900 width: 40 height: 42 length: 19 This beautiful Regency style mahogany dresser was hand-crafted from solid wood in Edwardian England around 1900 and recently restored by a team of master craftsmen. Over the years, the wood has developed a rich patina that enhances the lustrous mahogany complexion and distinct, wispy grain. Solid-brass swan neck pulls and pierced backplates form a wonderful complement to the mahogany, while the fluted edges and canted, reeded corners are characteristic of the Regency style. The classic two-over-three drawer design offers plenty of storage space, and each of the large drawers features hand-cut dovetailed joints, which indicate fine craftsmanship. Shaped bracket feet provide sturdy support that ensures this dresser will remain standing for generations to come. The restoration was performed excellently, and there is no noticeable wear beyond some very minor veneer bubbling and a single age split. Age splits are purely cosmetic phenomena that do not affect structural integrity and result, as the term indicates, from age. This fantastic Regency style mahogany dresser would make a fine addition to any home! « Less
