Pair of unusual Aesthetic Movement, flow blue plates. Unmarked, very handsome plates with a dark blue outer edge that gradually shades to a lighter blue in the undecorated center, with raised detail around the edge that has been heavily decorated in a deep coppery gold. Extraordinary set of twelve brilliantly colored floral plates. Each plate is a garden filled with poppies, pansies, cornflowers, too many bright flowers to list Around the delicate edge of these plates, framing them to perfection is a heavy bright brushed gold rim. The plates were imported by Ovington Brothers, a well known New York retailer and were made by H &Co. ( Haviland Co.). They are also marked England which is a mystery to me because Haviland was an American company that made it's porcelain in France (Limoge). Excellent original condition, with no visible wear. One is a church, one a covered bridge and one a broken fence. The back rounds are white, the flowers are done in vivid color and the edges of each plate are a fine brushed gold. Exceptionally beautiful, pair of Louis Comfort Tiffany ruffled plates. These Favrile glass gold iridescent plates are all original, with no chips, cracks or flakes, although one plate has a pinhole in the center which I am sure is original to it's making. Both have gorgeous shimmering color, very difficult to capture in a photo. Both plates have LCT acid etched on the backs which I believe is Tiffany's earliest mark on glass. Exceptionally fine Limoge fish set. Fully marked by the well known Tressemann & Vogt, Mark #12. According to The Encyclopedia Of Limoge, this is a rarely seen mark. This set consists of a large platter with one large fish in the center on a white back round surrounded by a leafy gold border which I believe is a transfer print. In addition there are 9 matching plates, each decorated with one fish and a single shell which is different on each plate, also bordered with the same leafy print. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Extremely good original condition, with a slight rubbing on some of the plates on the high edges of the leaf design where they rested upon each other. 24 1/4" wide x 10" tall platter, each plate has a 9 1/2" diameter. « Less
