This light (circa 1935) was part of Markel's "8800" series. This chandelier was Model 8836, which was top of the line for this 8800 series. Their 1930s catalog says it has a spread of 20".
Markel was one of the biggest companies working in the Great Depression, and had locations in America, Canada, and Australia. They made a lot of the slip shade fixtures found in antique shops today, and were a quality company.
The frame has a Red Bronze finish. The finish...while being cleaned up a mite...is original, and simply beautiful to the max. You cannot find a much better antique red bronze finish slip shade chandelier than this one. Wonderful condition!
The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition. Probably made by Consolidated Glass, or another quality glass house.
Measurements:
* Diameter: 20"
* Height: 31"
* Overall height can be lengthened if a longer height is desired. Please contact us for pricing.
We re-wired this chandelier in our UL shop, and it was simply neat to work with a nice chandelier like this one.
Price: $1,375.00 plus $50.00 for careful packing and shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

A well known name in Art Deco Americana lighting is Moe Bridges. There are existing catalogs from the 1930s that show his lines, as well as a few reference books.
This pendant comes from the series that Moe Bridges called the Etruscan Series. This three shade pendant was presented in their 1935 catalog.
The frame is cast iron, and supplied in an original pewter finish. The shades are a deep amber color, and present a nicely carved detail design thereon.
Measurements:
* Diameter: 14 ½"
* Height: 19"
* Height can be made longer by adding chain. Please contact us for pricing.
Completely rewired in our UL shop to UL standards with new sockets, it is now ready to install.
Each socket is fully capable of 100 watts each. If using incandescent light bulbs, we recommend using no more than 60 - 65 watts to protect the fragile slip shades from excessive heat. More light output with less heat can be obtained by using LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs.
A full mounting kit will be provided, so there will be nothing else to buy...except the light bulbs of your choice.
Price: $825.00 for the completely re-wired, UL approved Moe Bridges pendant...in great condition, plus $50.00 for careful packing and shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

Art Deco Mid-West Streamline design six shade chandelier with great Clam Shell shades from the 1930s.
Mid-West was an outstanding company that survived the Great Depression, which took many companies out of business. They had a standard that they never lowered, and the resulting work shows just that.
They were clever too. They used this clam shell shade for two totally different lines. The first line, which catered to the Victorian tastes, had curvilinear lines and motifs. The second line embraced the new Art Deco Streamline movement, of which the chandelier is...and was...TOP-OF-THE-LINE, and their best offering for their Streamline series. (Information courtesy of the Kelly Art Deco Lighting Museum.)
This fine light has two mixed metal finishes of polished metal contrasting with a rich old gold finish, and is, as the pictures tell, in outstanding condition for its age.
The shades are simply fantastic. No damage at all, and they have extremely rich colors.
Measurements:
* Height: 24" tall, but can be lengthened by adding a little extra chain. Please contact us for pricing.
* Width: 18 ½"
It was totally re-wired in our UL shop, with new sockets and new lead wire. Each slip shade socket can easily take a 100 watt bulb.
We are also supplying the bracket (crossbar) for this light, so literally, you can hang this light and have it working minutes after receiving it.
Really a nice light.
Price: $1,375.00, plus $50.00 for careful packing and shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

Really a VERY striking chandelier. Most French chandeliers have elements of Victoriana Rococo style designing, while this example goes directly for a "WOW" Deco Streamline look.
A nice 1930 - 1935 French Art Deco chandelier...nickel plated over brass...with the most outstanding ribbed Streamline shades we have seen. They are heavy, and near-mint. What an effect these shades have! Simply riveting!
Measurements:
* Diameter: 30 ½"
* Height: 34" overall.
The chandelier has been re-wired in our UL shop. French sockets were removed, and American normal medium base sockets were installed. The sockets take an everyday light bulb...but we went a step further since this chandelier intrigued us so much. We installed a removable adapter to change the thread to chandelier base so we could install a short mirror top 60 watt chandelier bulb by Satco (stock number S3246) called a Silver Crown Globe. We think this bulb gives an outstanding effect...but this is our opinion, and you can remove this adapter and go with any medium base bulb you wish. We will include the adapters and bulbs for you to make that decision. Each socket is fully capable of a 100 watt bulb.
Price for the chandelier is $3,135.00 plus careful packing and Freight Shipping.
Freight Shipping will be calculated and invoiced separately after purchase. If you would like a shipping quote before purchase, please contact us...we would be happy to provide one! « Less

Very Collectable Art Deco Slip Shade Five Light Chandelier by Globe
Globe Lighting Fixture Mfg Co. was located in Brooklyn, NY on 7th Avenue and 12th street. They were not as big as companies like Lincoln or Markel, but they did make some very interesting, and uniquely different, Art Deco lights....which are now harder to find.
This 5 slip shade chandelier, which was top of the line for this series, is just such a hard-to-find and collectable light. It was stock numbered 4215 in their catalog of 1934-35.
The cast iron frame has bold and striking lines, and is finished in a pewter look with highlights.
The shades are a nice, light amber, and will be shown very much nicer once brighter light bulbs are installed. Our pictures are only taken with 11 watt bulbs so as to not blow-out the focus of the camera lens.
We have totally re-wired this collectable chandelier in our UL shop with medium base sockets and new supply wire. All sockets can handle 100 watt bulbs, but we recommend no higher than 60 - 65 watts if you are using incandescent light bulbs. This limit helps to protect the antique glass slip shades from excessive heat. If greater lumen output is desired, compact fluorescent and LED bulbs make great substitutions.
Measurements:
* Height: 30" overall, measured from the top of the canopy to the bottom of the finial.
* Diameter: 17 ½" overall.
The length can be increased, if so desired...for a small additional charge. Please contact us for pricing.
Complete antique Globe UL re-wired chandelier with original amber shades: $1,045.00...plus shipping.
$50.00 for careful packing and Ground Shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

Art Deco Pair of Antique Slip Shade Wall Sconces by Riddle
A nice pair of Art Deco sconces made by Riddle, and pictured in their catalog of 1935.
Riddle was located in Toledo, Ohio and in 1932, was known as The Edward N. Riddle Company until they shortened the name before 1935.
Riddle did not use names for their lighting series, only stock numbers. In this line, there were chandeliers with various support types, and two wall sconces...including this one.
This pair of nice sconces are finished in a pewter finish, and have an air of Streamline Deco to them. The shades show a mock floral motif...but...still remain Deco. This design crossed a few decorative motifs.
The shades are amber, and in good...remarkable...condition.
These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets. The sockets can easily handle 100 watt incandescent bulbs, but you might wish to consider using a limit of 60 - 65 watts if choosing incandescent light bulbs. Higher wattage incandescent light bulbs output so much heat that they can damage antique glass shades. If better light yield is needed, we recommend substituting LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs.
Measurements:
* 10 ½" overall (Distance from top of shade to bottom of backplate.)
* Width: 5" (maximum)
* Projection: 4 ½" from the wall into the room.
All mounting hardware will be supplied.

Outstanding original, antique, six light chandelier circa 1935-37. Made by Lincoln Lighting Products of Detroit, Michigan.
Lincoln called this line "The Ambassador Line," and it was even sold through Sears during the 1930s.
With very clean Streamline lines, it is an Art Deco Streamline iconic chandelier. Nicely documented as to who made it, what it was called, and even who sold it. And...in GREAT condition too.
This six shade version was the Top-of-the-Line for this Ambassador Series, so when you have this one, you have the best of this interesting series. As curators of the only American Art Deco Lighting Museum, we are familiar with this very neat chandelier.
This chandelier has been rewired in our UL shop, and it still has the ambiance of a 1930s light. Six new high end sockets with wiring were installed.
The finish of the self-colored aluminum frame is very nice. It has a lovely contrasts, as hopefully the pictures show.
Measurements:
* Height: 25 ½" tall from the ceiling to the bottom of the finial.
* Diameter: 18" (shade tip to shade tip)
The height can be increased for your project by special request. Please contact us for pricing.
A full mounting kit will be provided, so there will be nothing else to buy...or do...before mounting this beauty.

European Alabaster Art Deco Large Chandelier with Eight Lights
Judging by the sockets and wiring that came with this fantastic chandelier, it was made in Italy or France. That is where the really nice alabaster comes from. And even for its age, it is in good condition.
Age is not easily distinguished, but the Art Deco Lady figures help in two ways. First, they are old composition made, and second...they are Deco in origin. We know it is an older chandelier, but the Deco designs and the mixed metal structure are hard to pin point. The metal has had a European subdued white wash applied, and we did not touch this finish as it appeals to many. An outstanding chandelier.
Measurements:
* Diameter: A significant diameter of 38 ½ shade tip to shade tip.
* Height: 53" currently, which could be adjusted for other heights if desired. Please contact us for pricing.
We have taken a lot of pictures of this chandelier since it is a rather remarkable offering.
In our UL shop, we changed the little European sockets to American medium based sockets for normal medium base bulbs. We also used medium based LED bulbs to light it, and we will include them in the sale of the chandelier. They are dimmable, with a 100 watt equivalent, and are available in either 2700°K (warm incandescent color) or 5000°K (bright white). Please contact us after purchase to let us know which is your preference.
For best results, we recommend using a Lutron CL dimmer switch for dimmable LED bulbs.
ANT-568 price is reasonable at $3,960.00. It has been totally re-wired with American sockets, wires, and connectors, and changed to hang from an American electrical box. We will supply all the necessary mounting hardware to connect to a standard electrical box.
Freight Shipping is extra, and must be calculated for destination.
