The fine flame mahogany used in the making of this cabinet, being lightly hand-distressed, hand-finished and hand-waxed, displays a distinct, fine grain and a rich complexion that could only come from fine workmanship. The optional leather inlay on the top of the file cabinet, which is bordered by hand-worked embossing and antique style gold tooling, complements the flame mahogany beautifully, while the antiqued solid-brass swan neck pulls also contrast well with the wood. Optional satinwood crossbanding around the file drawers places a nice emphasis on the antique style and class of the mahogany and brass configuration, while shaped paneling on the sides combines with ogee bracket feet or plinth base to complete a traditional English antique style appearance. Optional satinwood, rosewood, walnut or oak banding around the drawer fronts also contrasts beautifully with the walnut. The top of this credenza is a writing surface of fine leather, available in brown, green, black or burgundy, bordered with a hand-worked pattern of gold tooling. The leather makes an excellent writing surface, much better than wood, glass, or metal. The hardware on this credenza desk is elegant solid brass with the drawer pulls being swan neck style. What makes this credenza unique is its breakfront shape, plinth base, and rounded corners and columns.The central drawer is a hidden keyboard drawer, and the face drops down for use.
