This is a superb early 19th century large armorial crested orange Fitzhugh Chinese export serving platter. The crest of nesbitt in the center enclosed by a gilt belt with the motto JE LE MAINTIENDRAI within the typical quartered decoration. This wonderful platter is of a small group of services made for the British market in ''orange Fitzhugh'', a pattern much more closely identified with the Americans who dominated the China Trade in the Federal Period.
