Executed in soft colors in the Art Nouveau style, this plate by Keller and Guerin, Luneville France is a beautiful decorative object. I believe this probably dates to the 1960''s. The decoration is a mixture of Mucha and Peter Max in style. The condition is unused and mint. It would look great decorating a wall or a china cabinet. There is a shallow chip at the top of the bottom tile. It is housed in a new, Arts and Crafts style quartersawn oak frame and is ready to hang on your wall. The condition is very good. It has a small grinding flake to the base and a little roughness to the outside bottom edge of the excised area. This set of antique tiles from the hey day of the California Arts and Crafts period is a stunner. Made by the Gladding McBean Company of Glendale and Hermosa Beach, California, this piece may have started it''s life as a tabletop or wall panel. The glazing is rich and done in the dry line, or cueda seca, process. The artwork shows a ship with large billowing sails racing through the water. The set of four six inch tiles are set into a new mahogany frame with ebony pegs in the Greene and Greene style. Notice the great cloud lift details. The condition of these old tiles is superb, with no crazing or wear. There is one small chip to the upper right corner. It is a fabulous piece that would look great in any bungalow interior.
