Pre-Columbia, Inca, Central Peru, Ca 1350 to 1500 AD. Pair of painted pottery pachas, each decorated with crows on each side. Pachas were ceremonial vessels used by the Inca shaman as offerings to the gods. In this case, each pacha was filled with liquid - perhaps chicha - and sprinkled over the crops. The crows were painted on the side of these bottles so the offerings would keep the birds from eating the corn crops. Custom museum-quality mount. Each pacha measures 7-3/4"L, both intact/excellent condition, save minor surface wear, as shown.
