A matched Victorian, walnut framed, three piece salon suite, circa 1860. The suite comprises of a double-ended sofa, with a button upholstered oval-back, on a scroll carved and pieced frame. It has a serpentine seat rail on short, cabriole front legs with casters. The armchair also stands on front cabriole legs, shaped back legs with casters. The padded arms having knurled ends, with carved shaped supports, the back rail having a centre carving. The nursing chair also carries the same carvings, front legs and shaped back legs with casters, both chairs are serpentine fronted. The sprung suite is upholstered in a rich, regal purple colour, in a velvety type of material. The best we have sourced for a long, long time….. This lovely Renaissance Revival sofa belonged to my great, great uncle who died in 1929 at the age of 94. The sofa was stored in Covington KY until 1977. I had it reupholstered in 1978 and it has been in my possession since. Seldom used and in wonderful condition. Original finish on wood which I believe to be mahogany. There are carved heads on the arms and crest. The legs are fluted. 70" W X 40" H (to top of crest) X 24" (depth of seat). One front leg seems to have a small piece of the wood glued back on and another leg has a small scuff (1/4") on one of the detailed carvings. Shipping and insurance will be at buyer's expense. Can be picked up in Vero Beach FL.   « Less
