Rare and unusual antique Art Deco Pre-World War I silver and gold cigarette case. The case has a high relief sculptured Art Deco lady who is nude seated on the front of the case. To her left is an antique painting on porcelain portrait of a Middle Eastern or Russian lady colette set in gold. There is also a Russian gold coin and a Persian gold coin inset in the case. Also, the initial A in a fancy scroll, beneath that more gold, Roman numerals equaling the date 8/19/1917 this was the presentation date of the case not the date of manufacture. This case was made in Germany prior to World War I as may be evidenced by the crescent moon, 900 and the crown mark stamped on one side of the pusher. The other side of the pusher has a Russian hallmark for 84 purity silver, meaning 84% pure silver and 16% alloy the way most Russian silver items were marked during that time. The gold coins, the gold lettering, the gold mounted porcelain insert were all added after this case was made and before 8/19/1917. The case is in immaculate condition. This has obviously been a treasured item and very well cared for by its past owner. The case measures 4-1/2 inches wide, 3-3/4 inches high and 1/2 inch deep. Weight 156.1 grams. Rare and unusual silver and etched crystal bottle with a Putto holding grapes and a wine glass in his hand. The silver decoration depicts 3 Putto harvesting fruits and flowers on one side. There is a turkey and country scenes on both the other sides, and a matching group of three Putto harvesting fruit and flowers on the back. Please see enlargements for silver hallmarks. From the top of the Putto's head to the bottom of the bottle it measures 8-1/2 inches high. Width 3-1/8 inches. Depth 2-3/8 inches. Beautiful antique marked 900 silver with a maker's mark in a rectangular border incised along the outer lip of the case. The outside of the case is beautifully designed with an intricate and detailed sculptured border of square flower heads and flower heads along the middle set in diamond borders. The agate is in flawless condition, no cracks, chips or scratches. The box measures 3-1/8 inches long, 2-1/8 inches wide, and 3/4 inch deep. Weight 129.6 grams. Rare antique French hallmarked silver cigarette box. This is an extremely rare, beautifully made and very unusual cigarette table box. The first compartment opens to keep the cigarettes, the second compartment keeps matches, the third compartment opens to reveal a removable ashtray with matching French silver hallmarks. The bottom compartment door when open becomes a match striker. What an ingenius composition. May have been made for royalty. The top compartment doors have cabochon sapphires. The top has a beautiful design continuing along the sides of the box. It s in excellent condition. Some very minor dings on the underside of the box simply mentioned for accuracy.
