A rare form, Mid-nineteenth century Chinese Export sewing stand with sliding sewing bag, a central pedestal with three carved and gilded dragon feet, Lacquered wood and gilded decoration on black lacquer and with ivory instruments and fittings. The gilding and lacquered surface are in very good original condition. The pedestal base has been strengthened by the addition of a brass collar. 34" H. Antique English draw leaf dining table or pub table with 4 dining chairs dating back to the early 1900's. These dining sets are getting harder and harder to find. It is the perfect size to seat 4 people when closed and 6 people when extended. The table top sits on top of 2 self storing leaves which pull out and the center drops down to extend the table when needed. It stands on 4 chunky turned legs which are very sturdy and strong. The back of each chair features hand carved flowers. There are 2 turned legs to the front which connect to the curved back legs with a 'H' stretcher for added stability and support. The drop in seats are upholstered in a deep red with gold diamond pattern fabric which is newer and in excellent condition. This beautiful dining set is constructed from solid English oak which has developed a nice golden oak patina. As you can see from the pictures there is lots of variations in the color and patination of the wood which only adds to its rustic old English country charm and there is minor wear throughout. Over all this is a charming aged oak dining set which is in solid, sturdy condition with minor age appropriate flaws. Dimensions: Table: width 35 1/2", length 35", Extended length 58", height 30". Circa 1900 Classical Empire banquet dining table, 60” dia, solid mahogany, four original leaves/two skirted, gadroon and leaf carving around top edge and on platform base, four free-standing acanthus carved columns around large Classical central column, platform base with carved large paw feet, original paper labels on base, center leg enclosed in central pedestal. Table top opens partially for three leaves with base closed and then base opens and top expands to accommodate three more leaves (total of six leaves). 60” dia, four 12” leaves. 29.5” tall, 25” to bottom of skirt. Total opened with existing leaves - 108” long (9’) . Open with closed base is 99” (8’5”) using three leaves. Open with base opened is 136” (11’5) would accommodate two additional leaves/six total (four original leaves included).
