Beautiful antique French parcel silvered and gilt bronze 4 piece desk set in excellent condition. The set consists of a handled candleholder, a paperweight, and a double inkstand with 2 inkwells and 2 pen trays. The candleholder has an adjustable insert allowing it to reduce in size to hold smaller candles. The inkwells have their original porcelain ink holders that have a gilt rim matching the gilt bronze interior of the lidded ink wells. The 4th piece looks like an ink well at first glance. The double inkwell stand and penholders measure a little more than 11 inches wide, 7-1/2 inches deep, and 6-1/2 inches high to the top of the inkwell. The candleholder measures 6 inches wide to the tip of the handle and 3-1/4 inches high. The paperweight measures 3-1/4 inches long, 2-3/4 inches wide, and 2-3/4 inches high. The other lidded holder has a diameter of 5 inches and height of 5-3/4 inches. Weight 10 lbs. Parcel silvered and gilt bronze French inkwell desk sets like these are almost impossible to find at any price. This set dates from the 1880s. The platforms are made of marble, stone or thick porcelain. They are not crack or chipped. The numbers on the scale are very readiable. The numbers are bright. This is a great collector item. It stands 8 1/2 inches tall by 13 3/8 inches long by 6 1/4 inches wide and weighs 8 pounds. We will figure shipping with UPS ground. There is a chip in the mirror on the bevel edge. It is not through the mirror, you have to look hard to see it. The porcelain cup has no chips or cracks. The base is metal that has detail work. The stand was made by Queen City Silver Co. We do not know the date it was made. It stands 16 1/2 inches tall by 7 1/4 inches by 5 1/4 inches by 5 pounds. We will figure shipping with UPS ground.
