This unusual fancy shaker for talcum or powdered sugar is 4-1/2" high. The top is marked Sterling with a logo of the Wilcox Silver Plate Company of Meriden, CT in existence from 1865 to 1941. The top is full of beautiful repousse motifs of flowers and curled leaves. The collar of the base is simply marked Sterling. Wilcox was one of the original companies to become part of International Silver in 1898. This shaker dates to about 1890 or so. I believe that the cut patterns on the body of the glass are called strawberry diamonds with six pronged fans at the top. A star fills the entire base. The star motif is cleverly repeated in the holes of the sterling top. The glass appears to be in excellent condition, and I have not found any flea bites, cracks or chips. The sterling top is in very good condition with just a tiny pinprick above the mark. « Less

This rarely seen glass cologne bottle in a sterling repousse case is 4-1/2" high, 3-1/2" in diameter. There are clear English sterling marks on the bottom inside rim, which date the silver to 1904, with additional marks on the outside top edge. This case was produced during the reign of Edward VII. I have not been able to identify the maker's mark of WC. The elaborate repousse design of birds, tulips, drapery swags and a mask below the unengraved center cartouche appear on both sides of the hinged case.
It is most unusual to find the original glass cologne bottle inside the case, since the bottles are prone to break during the 110 year life of the piece. It is just as unusual to find the original paper label on the bottle. The back of the glass is embossed Johann Maria Farina/No4/Juelichsplatz No4. Farina was an Italian perfume designer and maker, born 1685 in Italy and died in 1766 in Cologne, Germany. The paper label states that the descendant of Farina made the Eau de Cologne, and he was the patented purveyor to King Edward VII and other Imperial and Royal Courts. The original sterling stopper and cork are present, but I have not removed the cork, in order not to damage it.

Little sterling silver purse or dance compact with gilded interior for the powder and a mirror inside the lid. Full British hallmark for Birmingham 1913. Makers mark hard to read, but looks like C.S. & F.F. Engine-turned ring engraving to the exterior. Measures 50 mm diameter and 14 mm thick (2 inches by 1/2 inch). It has a suspension ring, so can be worn as a pendant. (These compacts were sometimes worn on a long chain on which the compact end could be put down the front of a dance dress and used for a quick touch-up of powder. Condition: Some finger dents, and minor small dents to the rear (see photos), all of which could be pushed out by a good jeweller. « Less
