Superb very charming and beautiful 17th century Flemish Master painting. Directly from a high quality Paris' estate collection. " Fresh to the Market" Oil on canvas, relined in the past. Top museum quality painting. Superb colours and composition, incredible warm colours and detail.. " The Holy Child" This painting is a real Masterpiece, an incredible conversation piece. This painting in a ready to hang condition. The jpgs show some reflection. No flaking, no paint loss. The frame, not original to the painting, is more recent, from around 1750-1800, but well matching the painting. We found no signature or monogram at first sight but this can well be hidden in the darker parts of the painting. With an old bronze plaque on the frame stating " Anthony Van Dyck 1599-1641". This is a top museum quality painting, this painting is highly attributed to Anthony Van Dyck ( 1599-1641), studio of, school of, The painting "screams" out top quality. Painter and etcher Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641) was second only to Rubens in 17th-century Flanders. In fact he had worked at the latter's Antwerp studio as a young man. There he had concentrated on painting religious and historical scenes, like his teacher. Van Dyck had a huge impact as a portraitist of affluent burghers. From 1621 to 1627, Van Dyck worked in Italy, particularly in Genoa, where he absorbed the influence of Venetian painters, especially Titian. Later, Van Dyck worked in Flanders for several years, before suddenly leaving for London in 1632. Knighted by Charles I, Sir Anthony became one of the most sought-after artists of the English court. The remarkable elegance with which he portrayed his subjects certainly contributed to his success. In his later years, Van Dyck spent time in both England and the Low Countries. We had no research done on this painting, sold as found in the estate. Most probably a real "sleeper". This painting is part of a " pendant", two painting of the same size in the same frame. In very good condition...some minor wear to paint on frame edges and some peeling of backing paper on top (see photos). Very slight wrinkling/waves of paper under glass. The image includes numerous desirable elements of medieval scenes, including: a beautiful female in fine costume, noble men engaged in a courtly encounters, and castles perched on promontories.Provenance: Additional Information: The name "Spanish Forger" derives from the fact that the majority of this artist's paintings and illuminated manuscripts were originally attributed to the painter and illuminator Jorge Inglis, who was active in Spain but may have been English. The identity of the Spanish Forger remains unknown, although he is believed to have worked in Paris around 1900. He did not simply copy other images, but created original compositions in a distinctive style that romanticized medieval life with figures commonly have high cheek bones small pursed lips and often tilt their heads at a slight angle. These images were avidly collected by institutions and private collectors alike and were exposed as forgeries around 1930, and in 1978 the Pierpont Morgan Library published a catalogue of his work (W.
