He was baptized as Johannes Chrysotomus Wolfgangus Theophlus Mozart. He played piano at age of 3. He profoundly shaped classical music. string of Opera, Concertos, and Symphonies Sonata. this historic bust (sculpture) is of Alabaster, with incredible carving, workmanship, detailing on the vest /coat, buttons, neck , hair, eyes, nose, lips. it has few condition issues on the base only noted on images, for being delicate, and heavy. Miniature painting: a round oak frame with gilt inset framing a portrait of three women in Georgian period clothes. Nicely painted, fine crackle and some larger cracks to surface, but only noticeable under magnification or against the light. Can't tell what it is painted on - possibly vellum. Not canvas though, and not thick enough for board. Very good condition. Whole measures 13.5 cm diameter.   « Less

Persian miniature painting, horses and riders painted on mother of pearl shell and encased in a Khatam-work frame. Green mount. Whole measures 11.1 cm by 9.3 cm. Comes with ribbon and brass hanger in shape of leaf. The mount has some brown marks (not too noticeable against the green, probably caused by glue from the setting underneath), and the frame has opened up a little on the top corners. Painting is in excellent condition. As a whole, it still presents very well.   « Less

Toulouse-Lautrec “Yvette Guilbert” Ltd. Edition Lithograph on Japon Paper. THIS IS A LATER STATE FROM THE ORIGINAL PLATE AND THEREFORE CONSIDERED AN ORIGINAL LAUTREC. Originally published in 1895 in the Elles portfolio, this lithograph is from the posthumous printing authorized by the Musee d' Albi from Lautrec's original stone. The edition size for the vert was 200 numbered impressions. There were also 1700 impressions in black and 50 in sepia. This particular lithograph was printed in addition to the 200 for the publisher. Sheet measures 14.75 by 10.75 inches (sheet). Paper is of a vellum finish. Henri Marie Raymond de Toulouse-Lautrec-Monfa or simply Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (November 24, 1864 — September 9, 1901) was a French painter, printmaker, draftsman, and illustrator, whose immersion in the colorful and theatrical life of fin de siècle Paris yielded an oeuvre of exciting, elegant and provocative images of the modern and sometimes decadent life of those times. Toulouse-Lautrec is known along with Cézanne, Van Gogh, and Gauguin as one of the greatest painters of the Post-Impressionist period. In a 2005 auction at Christie's auction house a new record was set when "La blanchisseuse", an early painting of a young laundress, sold for $22.4 million U.S. Throughout his career, which spanned less than 20 years, Toulouse-Lautrec created 737 canvases, 275 watercolors, 363 prints and posters, 5,084 drawings, some ceramic and stained glass work, and an unknown number of lost works. Toulouse-Lautrec is known along with Cezanne, Van Gogh, and Gaugin as one of the greatest painters of the Post-Impressionist period. His debt to the Impressionists, in particular the more figurative painters Manet and Degas, is apparent. In the works of Toulouse-Lautrec can be seen many parallels to Manet’s bored barmaid at A Bar at the Folies-Bergère and the behind-the-scenes ballet dancers of Degas. He excelled at capturing people in their working environment, with the colour and the movement of the gaudy night-life present, but the glamour stripped away. He was masterly at capturing crowd scenes in which the figures are highly individualized. At the time that they were painted, the individual figures in his larger paintings could be identified by silhouette alone, and the names of many of these characters have been recorded. His treatment of his subject matter, whether as portraits, scenes of Parisian night-life, or intimate studies, has been described as both sympathetic and dispassionate. Toulous-Lautrec’s skilled depiction of people relied on his painterly style which is highly linear and gives great emphasis to contour. He often applied the paint in long thin brushstrokes which often leave much of the board on which they are painted showing through. Many of his works may best be described as drawings in colored paint. After Toulouse-Lautrec’s death, his mother, the Comtesse Adèle Toulouse-Lautrec, and Maurice Joyant, his art dealer, promoted his art. His mother contributed funds for a museum to be built in Albi, his birthplace, to house his works. As of 2005, his paintings had sold for as much as US$14.5 million.   « Less

(Danish, 1892-1972) This Scandinavian painting shows a living room interior with a young woman reading by a large sunny window overlooking the Church of Our Lady. This important Church ( Vor Frue Kirke) is the oldest church in Scandinavia dating back to 1060 in Aarhus, Denmark. Signed (lower left): Aage Lund. Aage Lund is primarily known for its fishing and oyster posters for Fish house, Gammel Strand, Copenhagen. He served as the artistic director to the large lithographic Company A / S Kruchow & Waldorff. His many paintings, watercolors, etchings and lithographs were mainly given to his family, friends and a few business associates so they are not as well known.
