Cream and brown mottled reverse with two hanging holes on the foot rim. Three stilt marks and impressed maker''s mark ''M. MAFRA CALDAS PORTUGAL'' inside the foot rim. Good. No hairlines. No chips. Three stilt marks inside the foot along with maker''s marks impressed ''M.MAFRA CALDAS PORTUGAL'' and ''6''. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Three chips to the foot (probably during firing) and a further three shallow chips associated with stilt marks. Some flaking to the moss. Kiln effect: shrinkage crack to tail of one lizard. Repair to neck of the smaller lizard. Restoration to one beetle leg, and one other leg rebuilt. Small restored chip to tail tip of the largest lizard. 9.25ins diameter « Less

CLARKE PATENT TRADEMARK CRICKLITE'' to base of cup. The cup and dome sit in a matching rounded base with an inwardly crimped rim. Fairy lamps originated in England in the 1840''s and are candle burning night lights that would have been used in nurseries, hallways, and dimly lit corners of the home.
