A very good Worcester high footed sauceboat of rococo shape hand painted in underglazed blue with 'The Triangular Platform' pattern. Worcester produced three sizes of sauceboat in this shape, this being the middle one. There is a very fine hairline of 3cms issuing from a small glaze fault inside the sauceboat, this is only barely visible just to the left of the main cartouche showing the man fishing in the boat. There are no other chips, cracks or restoration. Marked to the underside with a workmans mark. Measures 19.7cms long overall.

John Rose Coalport sucrier, of oval form with dolphin handles, decorated in the style of Charles Muss with intricate purple landscapes including fishermen and figures by ruins , with flocks of birds overhead, within an octagonal wide gilt band, the shoulder with a simple laurel leaf band, the rims and knop thickly gilt.

References: ref. Messenger- Coalport- p 139 for some similar tea wares by the same hand, on John Rose Coalport. Traditionally these are attributed to Charles Muss, who had begun painting on porcelain wile apprenticed at the Caughley works in the late 18th century. By
