For Sale is a Lovely piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item is a Hand Blown "Optic Ribbed Stemmed Sherbet" or "Champagne" and it is done in the "Blue Gray Transparent Glass with Topaz (Amber) Stem". The Sherbet is a nice size as it stands 4 5/8" tall and is 3 7/8" in diameter. The foot has a diameter of 2 13/16".
The Stemmed Sherbet displays a wonderful optic Vertical ribbing in its Blue Gray Transparent Cup. The foot of the Sherbet is round and also displays this same beautiful blue/gray transparent glass. The Sherbet if further accent with an elegant shaped transparent amber glass stem. The top lip is fire polished and has a rounded edge.
This stemmed sherbet is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are a few very minor scratches on the bottom of the foot but the Interior of the Glass shows virtually no signs of wear. The Glass is somewhat light in weight. This is a real elegant color combination! This Sherbet is signed on the bottom edge in an etched block letters that read "STEUBEN". This Sherbet also displays a counter sunk polished Pontil on the bottom, the sign of a Quality Hand Blown piece of Art Glass. This is known as shape number 2680 in the Steuben Achieves of shapes. This particular Stemmed Sherbet has a more elegant taller stem that is not all that commonly found in this shape. You will see this when you look at all the different glass colors for this shape on the Steuben Site. I will provide a link below to show this for you to see that this is Steuben Glass highlighted below.
Steuben Art Glass is some the Highest Quality Glass you can own. At the turn of the Century LCT Tiffany Studio's Favrile line was their main competitor and their fared equally as well creating some of the nicest Art Glass pieces the World has ever seen. Steuben Stemware is somewhat hard to find in excellent condition. These items were used and most of them did not make it through. Those of you who collect Steuben Stemware, or the Blue Gray/Amber and want an exceptional example, do not let this one slip by you!!

For Sale is a hard to find piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item is a hand blown and engraved "Cruet" and it is done in the Verre de Soie Style of Art Glass. This was Frederick Carder's Favorite Glass. "Verre de Soie" literally means "Glass of Silk". The Cruet has some size to it as it stands 7 1/4" tall to the top of the Stopper and it is 3 1/4" in diameter at the bottom.
The Cruet depicts a Milky Translucent White Glass throughout. Both pieces have a wonderful iridescence sheen to it. You can see beautiful hues of Fuchsia, Purples and Blues. When you rub this piece of glass across your face it has a very silky feel to it, thus the name "Verre de Soie" Glass of Silk. The Cruet is Wheel Engraved by Hawkes with the words "Oil" towards the top of the Bottle and "Vinegar" at the bottom. This is only on one side of the bottle. There is a Garland of Flowers and Leaves that are also wheel etched or engraved. There is a set of Flowers on the front and back. These are separated by the long Vine of wheel cut leaves. The stopper is also engraved on the top with the Floral Pattern.
The Cruet is considered to be in very good to excellent condition. There are are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings to the bottom and the bottom of the bottle stopper has a very tiny flea nick. There are a scratches on the bottom of the bottle and this is typical of wear. The Cruet does display a counter sunk polished Pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Cruet is signed in an Acid Etched Signature mark that reads "Hawkes". The bottom of the stopper also bears this signature as well. There appear to be some other writing below the bottle signature mark but I cannot make out what it says.
I believe this to be similar in shape to number 3063 in the Steuben Catalog of shapes. This should be a new shape for the Steuben Club to index. It is not quite the same as shape number 3063 but is very close. I will attach a link to the Steuben Club Website of shapes to show this below.

This is an early piece of Steuben. Frederick Carder came over from England to Corning, NY and formed a partnership with Thomas Hawkes in 1903. Their new company was called "Steuben" after the county Coring was in. Hawkes did the engraving on the Glass and Steuben made the Glass blanks. Steuben Aurene Glass is some the Highest Quality Glass you can own. At the turn of the Century LCT Tiffany Studio's Favrile line was their main competitor and their fared equally as well creating some of the nicest Art Glass Vases the World has ever seen.
These Cruets were used and most of them did not make it through. This Style of Bottle is very hard to find without damage. I am happy to report that this has only a Flea Nick and is considered insignificant! Those of you who collect Verre de Soie and want an excellent example do not let this one slip by you!! This piece was early in Steuben's Production as it was made, Circa 1903-1915. « Less

For Sale is a lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios of New York, New York. The Item is a "Stemmed Sherbet" and it is done in the very desirable Pastel Blue Opalescent color. The Sherbet stands 3 1/2" tall and the Cup is 1 1/2" in diameter. The bottom foot has a diameter of 2 1/2".
The Sherbet displays a wonderful and rich deep periwinkle Blue top lip. This is set against a background of creamy white opalescence glass. The Sherbet sits on a Stem that rises up off of a round foot. The Stem and the foot are done in opalescence glass. The Foot and the top of the Cordial have a wonderfully Rolled and Fire Polished edge. This piece of Art Glass is very delicate and it is amazing that it has survived over 90 years without any damage.
The Stemmed Sherbet is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Piece is signed on the bottom with the Etched "L.C.T. Favrile" Cipher mark for "Louis Comfort Tiffany". There is also a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass.
These Pastel Blue Sherbets are some of the hardest color to find in the Tiffany Pastel Art Glass pieces. The quality doesn't get much better than this. I'm sure the buyer will be delighted with their Purchase. This Stemmed Sherbet was made Circa 1917-1925. « Less

For Sale a very nice Art Glass Tile made by Tiffany Studios, New York. This is the 5rd tile of a Tile Collection of 6 I bought. The Tile is a nice petite size as it measures 2 15/16" Square. This would be considered a 3" Square Tile.
This Art Glass Tile displays an Arts and Crafts Four Leaf Clover raised design in the center. The Symbol of Good Luck. The Glass in this Tile is simply outstanding. The Mottling is Superb!! The Tile shows Red/Orange to Burgundy with Yellow/Green mottling coloring throughout. There is a Green/Yellow Geometric thin layer of color surrounding the exterior border. There is also a grain in the glass. It is a slightly raised swirl texture as pictured.
The Glass is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks or any major chips. There is the usual tiny Flea nicks along the exterior edge. There are about a half dozen of these. These are on the top and bottom corners. Most of these are Flea nicks with the largest about the size of a pencil tip. My camera is 10X Power Zoom and make it looks worse than it really is. The tile is unsigned as is the case with these style tiles. The tile does display (4) Star Shaped Raised Glass teeth on a raised horizontally framed grid. This is as good as a Tiffany Signature and is unique to LC Tiffany Favrile method of making them. These teeth show some missing glass and is quite common as these points are quite Fragile.
These tiles were used around Fireplaces and other Mosaic Type applications. This grid work on the back helped hold it to the grout and hold it in place when mounted. Taking these tiles out usually caused damage to the tile. This one is in surprising great shape and more than likely was removed with some ease. Tiffany Favrile Tiles in this Decor and Mottling are very hard to find. Tiles were some of the earliest glass items made by Tiffany Studios as he used them in his Decorating Business early on. These were made in his Corona, Long Island Factory.
This tile was very early in Tiffany Favrile production. This Tile was made circa 1892-1900. « Less
