The Unitile company of Ohio was only in business for 10 years, between 1917 and 1927. This uncommon offering is a figural tile of a businessman. The image''s outlines are deeply carved into the face of the tile. This and the striated background were meant to be covered with grout, so that when intalled the image looked like the seperate tiles of a mosaic. This tile measures 8.5 inches by 6 inches. It is signed both on the front in the bottom left corner as well as the back. It is housed in a new oak frame made from old wood. The condition is excellent.
