An unusual small Tang pottery of a standing dwarf wearing a robe and panted in orange pigments. He has a stocky figure and a sweet countenance on his downward tilt head. He is full of character. Price on request.A gentle-faced bronze figure of Quanyin (the Goddess of Mercy) seated on a lotus pedestal. She wears an ornate necklace and has prayer beads on her right wrist. There is an image of Buddha beneath the veil on her head. Placed before her is her ambrosia bottle (kalasa). At the foot of her lotus pedestal is a band with two dragons facing a flaming pearl. Some design elements (robe trim designs, lotus design at her back, etc.) have been etched into the bronze whereas others are from the casting. Period: Ming - 16th Century Size: Height = 37 cm (14-1/2 inches), Width at base = 13.75 cm (5-3/8 inches) Condition: Very good and has a very nice patina. The head area was most probably touched innumerably so it is lighter in color and the little Buddha features above the head have been worn down. Such touching is done traditionally for good luck. This is a small yaozhou celadon bowl in the shape of a compressed globular body divided into 12 lobes vertically. It stands on a short foot rim with a recessed based all glazed in olive green colour all the way from the foot rim to the mildy everted mouth rim and to the inside of the bowl. Some abrasion to the mouth rim of the bowl, uneven glazing and minute snad grits adhesion to the recess base of the footrim as shown in the photographs. Nails mark can be seen near the the foot rim as shown in picture no.5. Other than that overallit is in good condition with no repair, restoration, chip, glaze fritting or glaze crazing. This is a nice small southern Song dynasty (1127-1279) qingpai funerary grain storage house. It stands on a slightly short footrim with a recess base. The outer ring of the footrim is shaved inward. From the footrim, it slightly curved outwards to a bulb like body with a wide open mouth rim. The cover of the jar has a tradition Chinese rooftop design. The top of the roof has a ruyi like or cloud design and the four corners of the roof has a raised tile and at the end it, it curved back upward. The footrim and the base of the grain house reveal a whitish fine clay indicating that it could originate from the hutian kiln. The conditions are shown in photographs no. 3 and 5. There are colour variation to the body and the two chips to the mouth of the body as shown in photo no. 5. There are general abrasion, as can be expected of a funerary object. Other than that, the object is in great condition. The dimension of the qinpai grain store house: the height is 15.3cm and the width is 9.3cm. This is a small and beautiful qingpai ewer of very mild greenish hue. It stands on a short recessed base and then everted upward to a bulbous body, with a sligltly sloping shoulder and the a short slanted neck towards a bowl like mouth rim. Under the sunlight, the ewer has a mild greenish appeareance. Under normal sun light, the ewer has a mild greenish hue but under normal room light, it appears to have a greyish hue. It is a bit trying to get the actuakl colour of this piece. A mild luting line can be seen at about 50% from the foot level. The ewer is in good condition with minor abrasion and glaze crazing on the mouth. Minor pinholes, otherwise no repair, restoration or chip and crack. The height of the qingpai ewer is 11.2cm and the width is 10cm Please refer to our stock # S10041700044 when inquiring.   « Less
