The Griffin is battling with a snake that also has the diamond flower in its mouth. The snake has its body entwined with all his muscle and might to pull the diamond flower form the Griffin's mouth. There were originally 9 old rose cut diamonds, but 2 of the small ones are lacking. The Griffin and snake are beautifully carved and appear very lifelike. Weight 10.5 grams.
