These are two matching antique bronze exterior door hardware sets, in Yale & Towne’s “Meridian” design, circa 1910. This hardware features an elegant Neoclassical scroll design with unusual oval doorknobs; the plates and keyholes are crowned with palmettes. Each set comes with the original split-system lock, large exterior backplate with a double keyhole, rosette and keyhole escutcheon, and pair of oval doorknobs with the connecting rod. These entry door sets are in excellent condition with a lovely patina. The backplates measure 11” by 3”, the roses are 2 1/8” in diameter, and the keyhole covers are 3 1/8” by 1 3/8”. These are four matching antique door hardware sets by Russell & Erwin, with bronze doorknobs and iron door plates with their original bronze wash. The locks are signed and patent dated 1889. The backplates and locks feature R&E’s elegant “Villa” design, with crisp detail and a lovely finish. The bronze door knobs, original to the sets as found in a 19th Century home, are in a different pattern that coordinates beautifully with the doorplates and knobs. The knobs feature a flower in the center, surrounded by an overlapping fan pattern. These sets are in excellent condition and function beautifully. The knobs are 2 ¼” in diameter and 2” deep; the backplates are 5 ½” by 1 3/8”; and the plate on each mortise lock is 5 3/8” long and 15/16” wide. The set includes the doorknobs with connecting spindle, a pair of plates, and an antique mortise lock. The door knobs feature an elegant three-fold design of volutes and leaves surrounding a raised center; the plates are crowned with a crest surrounded by foliate detail and volutes. This is a marvelous antique cast bronze “Windsor” pocket door set by Reading Hardware, circa 1885. The set includes the ornamented lock and two faceplates, ornamented with the distinctive Windsor design of stylized leaves and bands of circles. The plates and the handles are in their original finish with a darkened background and lighter highlights. The set is in excellent condition and functions beautifully. These are 21 matching antique cast iron door plates, circa 1900. These plates feature a border of alternating anthemia and berries on a textured background, with volute detail at the top and bottom of each plate. This door hardware is in excellent condition with a nice patina and some minor white paint splatters. The top bead on one of the doorplates has been cut off (pictured), possibly to allow it to fit underneath decorative detail on a door; the other twenty plates are unmodified.
