Art Deco Odeon Theatre Pair of Clam Shell Sconces
Very neat shell motif British theatre sconces. These sconces are often called "Odeon Lights", since the main movie house chain in Britain has named all their theatres "Odeon". In fact, Odeon is often a synonymous term for a movie theatre, i.e. "Let's go to the Odeon".
These sconces could have been supplied with frosted, or amber, and even pink tinted shades around the turn of the century. As shown, these particular shades are amber glass shades mounted in a nickel plated frame. They are a bit unusual to have bottom rotary switches, as most British sconces did not have them since they were used in commercial theaters. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more.
These sconces came from the same location as ANT-703, but are a bit different amber hue, and the side screws are slightly different too. There are differences, so that is why we split them up.
Measurements:
* Height: 8 ¾"
* Width: 10 ½"
* Projection: 4 ½" from the wall into the room.
We have re-wired these sconces to UL American standards, in our UL listed shop, with new American medium based sockets. We also replaced the British pushbutton switch with an American rotary switch of the period. Each sconce takes a single 100 watt bulb. These sconces are ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit, which we will supply.
Price: $764.50 for the nice pair of UL rewired sconces, complete with rotary switches...plus shipping charges.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Antique Red-Bronzed Art Deco Slip Shade Wall Sconces
True high-end quality original cast RED BRONZE antique frames with a lovely patina. The frames are showing a contrasting color variation due to their age, and simply lovely patina aged from the care of this antique. Circa 1930, these Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were the only ones made for this series of slip shade lights.
It is difficult to cast reticulated backplates, as any casting man will tell you. These fixtures are just in such nice condition. The shades, too, are simply in fantastic condition, with amber finish and displaying dashes of clear center design.
Measurements:
* Height: 12"
* Width: 5 ¼"
* Projection: A mere 5" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, made by Leviton in the 20s...and still made up to two years ago. So these switches by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice.
Price: $935.00 for completely UL re-wired RED BRONZE frames and amber shades, plus careful packaging and shipping.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

1933 Lightolier Luxart Chandelier
This chandelier was shown in a 1933 Lightolier catalog for builders, architects, and decorators. The catalog shows this chandelier being installed in the finest shopping establishments. It came from the series that Lightolier called Luxart. Our chandelier was stock numbered 4022, and the cost in 1933 was $29.25. This was a princely sum in Depression 1933. Since it was never a cheapy...and since most of its use was commercial...few have survived, since few were bought for the home.
Lightolier made two versions of this chandelier. They made this one with four side shades, and a slightly larger model with five side shades. Strangely, both models only had one socket.
This frame is, and was, made from a combo of metals. You have a structural cast iron frame with nickel plated elements. Iron painted black to contrast the Nickel.
This chandelier does show its age. There are odd living marks on the nickel struts...there is some worn iron paint...and like a good Persian carpet...it just shows its age. If you are a true antiquer...its great...if you need it perfect...please don't consider it.
Measurements:
* Height: 33"
* Width: 10 ½"
It contains one medium base socket just like the original. This could be modified if desired. But Lightolier suggested the use of a 300 watt bulb. There are some very beefy LEDs out there that could light it up very nicely indeed.
While everyone in the biz throws the word "rare" at nearly everything...we refuse to do that. However...to explain that this is a more uncommon finding is not stretching the truth at all.
Price: $1,925.00 complete with very fine condition side shades, while the bottom shade does have some roughness around the mounting area which is not ever seen. Plus packing and shipping.

Antique Original Lincoln 6 Light Chandelier
Outstanding original antique six light chandelier, Circa 1935, made by Lincoln Lighting Products of Detroit, Michigan. It comes from a series that Lincoln called: The Grosvenore Series
This chandelier has a lovely pewter finish with dark amber shades. As a six light chandelier, it was the top-of-the-line chandelier for this series, as most 6 shade chandeliers are.
The details of the shades are outstanding. Orange/amber is normally preferred, and was more expensive. This fixture's shades are in very good condition, with some VERY minor flaking around the fitters that is extremely hard to see unless you were right up to the light and looking very hard for them.
Measurements:
* Height: 24" overall, from the ceiling to the bottom of the finial.
* Diameter: 18" (shade-tip to shade-tip)
This chandelier has been rewired in our UL shop, and it still has the ambiance of a 1930s light. Six new high-end sockets, with wiring, were installed. Also installed was a new 3-way switch on the body (seen in the one picture). This allows a combo of different bulbs to be lit, so perhaps it can act as a nightlight...or subdued light...or full light. A full mounting kit will be provided so there will be nothing else to buy...or do...before mounting this beauty.
Price: $1,045.00 for the completely re-wired, UL approved, authentic Lincoln antique chandelier in great condition. Shipping is a bit extra.
$50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

American Art Deco STREAMLINE Sconces by Virden
Cast 1939 signed Art Deco sconces that are in the Virden catalog #39 (i.e. 1939 as the catalog number reflected the year it was published). These sconces were item 6001 from the Carleton Series, and Virden bragged: "Underwriters Approved". Please note the picture of the original green paper label still attached on the back of one of the sconces. You can just make out the Virden name.
The metal finish is pewter, while the shades have those typical Streamline concentric rings which are so very iconic of Streamline design. The shade colors are all original, and near-mint. There is a tiny bit of roughness to the frames...not serious...but as cast, and 1930s produced. It's pretty plain in the pictures...not perfect...but nice antiques.
Measurements:
* Height: 7 ½" overall, from the top of the shade to the bottom of the metal backplate.
* Width: 7" overall (widest part of the frame)
* Projection: 4" from the wall into the room.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal sockets for everyday medium base bulbs were installed. The sconces have a rotary switch for on and off. Each sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Price: $935.00 for the pair, plus careful packing and shipping.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier with Matching Sconces
These were part of Mid-West's Newport series...Circa 1935. Mid-West was located in Kansas City, and had a reputation for making quality lighting. As proof, it did survive the Great Depression to be sold off to Thomas Industries only a couple of years ago. Streamline in design - this set captures the essence of the movement. The six shade chandelier (one bottom shade + 5 slip shades) was the top of the line for the Newport Series.
This set of circa 1935 chandelier and sconces were taken from a dining room of a local home, and looked quite nice there. We are attempting to keep them together.
The metal of the series has a nice darkened pewter finish in excellent condition.
All amber shades are in very nice condition, with just a tiny bit of roughness that reflects their age.
Chandelier Measurements:
** Height: 22"
** Diameter: 17 ½"
Sconce Measurements:
** Height: 7"
** Width: 7 ½"
** Projection: 4" from the wall into the room.
Each socket is capable of receiving a 100 watt bulb. All three lights have been completely re-wired, in our UL shop, with new sockets and wiring to conform to UL guidelines.
This set is ready to go, and will be supplied with all the necessary mounting hardware.
Complete, UL re-wired set of top-of-the-line chandelier with a nice pair of matching sconces: $1,705.00 plus careful shipping.

Rewired Antique Slip Shade Art Deco Red Bronze Finish Chandelier
Art Deco 5 slip shade impressive chandelier. This fine light has a lovely RED BRONZE metal finish in outstanding condition for its age. Also nice is that each reticulated panel...between each slip shade...is wonderfully cast, which is very hard to accomplish if you ask any good casting person.

Antique Pair of Art Deco Wall Sconces Attributed to Riddle Co. & Consolidated Glass
Lovely Pair of Americana Slip Shade sconces. Castings can be attributed to Riddle Co., who favored designs such as these and worked in the same metal.
The marvelous shades simply must be by Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co., who were the absolute best. Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. of Coraopolis, PA was one of America's finest glass makers before and during the Great Depression. Unfortunately...Consolidated went bankrupt no less than three times during the Great Depression. They made outstanding consumer products, i.e. vases, bowls etc., and most outstanding shades and lighting. And everything that they made was the absolute BEST quality America had to offer to the world.
This pair of sconces is elaborating designs from the French Exposition Des Arts Decoratifs of 1925. An interesting note about these sconces is that they were made to compete against similar sconces made by Virden 1030-5. Virden had a similar pair of sconces which are now more common than these sconces, but, we think that these sconces are far superior to the Virden design. These sconces are circa between 1931 and 1936.
Measurements:
* Height: 9" overall.
* Width: 7" overall.
* Projection: 5" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely re-wired, in our UL shop, with new sockets to conform to UL guidelines. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb...but...we would recommend LED bulbs to protect the now older glass shades.
Remarkable and very unusual sconces, UL re-wired: $1,045.00...plus careful shipping.
