The diamond in the Griffin's mouth is an old mine cut measuring 12 points. It is a nice white clean diamond. In the eyes are 2 old mine cut diamonds nice color and clarity measuring 5 points each. You can hang a watch or another piece of jewelry from the holder. It also has a loop making it wearable as a pendant necklace. It also has a very secure pin allowing it to be worn as a brooch or pin. This griffin is beautifully sculptured. It has a curled handle to the tip of the sword and is set with a ruby eye and 7 old mine cut diamonds. The largest diamond in the griffin's wing measures more than .10 points. The other six diamonds in the sword handle average .025 points each. Combined diamond weight approximately .25 carats. This is a beautifully detailed sculpture measuring 32mm from the bottom to the top of the wing. Width from pearl to wing tip 29.2mm. Weight 8.2 grams. This griffin is in mint condition and is marked in an oval FIX. Fix is a French term used for describing jewelry that has been heavily gold applied or plated to look like solid gold. Fix pieces look so much like gold that the French mark their gold applied pieces with the mark FIX. This was done to identify the pieces as not being solid gold to prevent anyone from being deceived. High quality FIX pieces look like solid gold. This griffin is a classic example. It measures 1-3/4 inches wide, 1-5/8 inches high. Weight 5.3 grams. Mint condition.
