Circa 1820-1840 Chinese Export Rare Sacred Bird and Butterfly Soup Tureen Complete with Underplate and Cover. The dimension of the Cover is 11 3/8" X 9". The cover also has a beautiful gilded mushroom finial. The undertray has a few firing marks that occured in the making and is quite normal in these chinese export pieces from this time period. The dimension of the undertray is 14 1/4" X 11 3/4" and is 2 1/8" in depth. The Tureen is 14" from handle to handle and the opening measures 8" X 10". This is the first tureen in this lovely pattern that we have had in over 10 years. Fresh out of a house in the Midwest. Complete with undertray which is very unusual in any kind of porcelain as it seems that pieces get split up in families. This tureen is in fairly decent condition with a few exceptions. The images that I have uploaded, I have tried to show a few minor imperfections. The underplate has a small nick and a hairline. Both of those minor items can be restored very easily. The gilded handles have wear and minor abrasions that might even be in the making.   « Less

This is a great example of an enamel on porcelain doucai bowl from the Qianlong period 1736-1795. There is a flying bird over a grouping of flowers, including lotus flowers. Interestingly enough, there is a grasshopper on the lower right side standing on top of a leaf. The border below the rim is a beautiful tourquoise green. All of the colors are vivid, however, there is much chiping of the enamel. The foot is .75'' deep and shows much age on the underside. Around the base is enameling in a wave motif, all enameling is intack. The mark is illegible. Underside of the dish are markings in red. Here is a doucai enameled bowl in a wimsey style. The top is decorated with three swimming, and almost smiling fish. The edge of the bowl is crimped and shaped to resemble a pond of water. Underneath, the foot is cut away to 3/4'' depth to create an unusually high stand for the bowl, making it look like an aquarium. The foot is decorated in a water and wave motif and the underside is decorated with scrolling movement. Everything about this piece speaks of action. The damage consists of a one inch hairline crack with a noticable chip out of the bottom of the top rim. This piece is full of life: the fish are somewhat comical and look as if they are almost dancing! Condition: fair; Circa: 18th century; Heigth: 1.5''; Width: 5''   « Less

Circa 1720-1730 Late Kangxi (1662-1720) Period Chinese Export Yongzhen Flared Famille Rose Bowl measuring 7" in diameter and 3 1/2" in height and depth. This is absolutely a Beautiful Inverted Bell Shape Very interesting and Unusual Bowl that is signed. The fact that it is marked makes for the thought that it is in fact a piece of late Kangxi, later decorated in the Yongzhen Period as the colors would indicate. Very Good Condition.
