Ruby Red Glass Cocktail shaker made in America Circa 1935. 9 3/4"H X 3 3/4" D tapering to top 2 3/4"D. This beautiful shaker has a Chrome top and tapered body with intense ruby color. The bottom shows a polished potil "ring for solid purchases and a reliable sign of quality glass. The bottom edge has a small flake from use other wide no cracks or damage. The top has two stress cracks on the edge caused by age, no scratches or dents. The glass is decorated with stylish silver overlay grape vine motif. The shaker is perfect in every way ie no damage, chip, cracks, discoloration etc. The top is also free of cracks and is perfect. 15"H, 3" W at the top. The silver top with strainer and air tube to allow smooth pouring of cocktail. The top is marked "Derby Shelton Silver Co., Shelton Conn. patent #2097604 maker of the top and shoe. This is a fantastic one of a kind, Victorian cased art glass pitcher. I believe this piece to be from Moser or perhaps Thomas Webb Moroccan Ware. Circa 1885 and in perfect condition. It has a highly detailed enamel hand painted decoration with gold gilt around every painted area. Even the tiny dots have a circle of gold around them. It was very hard to get a picture showing the gilt but if you super-size the close ups you will see how detailed this piece is. The artist was a master and this piece is museum quality. Has an applied glass, amber colored thorn handle. Stands 8 inches tall. I would say that the gold gilt is 98% intact and the hand painted florals are 99.9% intact. It shows the white layer of glass inside the ground and polished pontil which I have read is a characteristic of Webb glass but the detail says Moser.   « Less
