For Sale is a lovely vase made by Fratelli Toso (Murano) of Italy. This piece could be called a "Ewer, Creamer, or Cabinet Vase". The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 5 3/8" (188 mm) tall to the top of the handle and is 3 1/2" (88.90 mm) in diameter at its widest points.
The Vase displays green, amethyst and white murrines on a clear ground with a clear applied, crimped handle. The form of the vase resembles a ewer or small bulbous pitcher with an elongated neck. The Vase was manipulated as a free form and not a mold blown piece as the murrines in the neck are stretched in the middle from this process. The rim of the pitcher has been flared out with an exaggerated pour spout. The ewer has a gloss finish and is really quite stunning with great contrasting colors.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is a small Pontil Scar on the bottom. The Vase is not signed but the decoration is a well documented decor by Fratelli Toso (Murano) Italy done during the Mid Century Modern Era. More than likely this had a paper label at one time. This Italian Art Glass Vase was made Circa 1950-1959. « Less

For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by the Union Glass Company (Kew Blas) of Somerville, Mass (1893-1927). The Vase is considered a Cabinet form. The Vase stands 2 3/4" Tall and is 4 1/8" in diameter at the bulge. The Pattern is called "Pulled Feather" and the decoration is just wonderful.
The Vase displays a wonderful Squat form. The body similar to a space ship rises up from a round foot and has a raised neck with a slightly flared top lip. This is all formed from a single piece of glass. It has a very lovely Gold Pulled Feather Pattern over a Calcite white base glass. The Pulled feather decoration is very similar to L.C.T. Tiffany Favrile version of Pulled feathers as they are more abstract than Quezal or Steuben which were executed with precision. These Feather Pulls actually start at the bottom underside and are pulled up above the shoulder of the squat form. This is very difficult to do. The inside of the Vase is finished with a brilliant gold iridescence as you can see.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The bottom of the vase shows minor wear and is typical of a Vase with this much age to it. The Vase is signed with the wide etched "KEW-BLAS signature mark inside of the counter sunk polish pontil.
Employee William Blake produced a range of art glass called Kew Blas, which was an anagram of his name. He did this during his employment with The Union Glass Company of Somerville, Mass. This Vase is Much Rarer than Kew Blas's contemporaries of the day such as L.C.T. Favrile, Steuben, Quezal and Loetz. They only blew this type of Art Glass for 8 years. It rivals the Quality of LCT Tiffany Favrile and is quite similar. I'm know the Buyer will be very pleased with their purchase.
This vase was made circa 1907-1915. « Less

For sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by The Pairpoint Manufacturing Company of New Bedford, Mass. The item is a Wheel Cut Compote and it is done in the most popular Amethyst Purple base glass. The Compote is a nice cabinet size as it stands 3 1/8" tall and is 6 7/8" in diameter. The foot has a diameter of 3 9/16".
The compote displays a unique turn edge border. The Compote has a very pleasing Purple Color when out of Sunlight. When it is in sunlight the Compote displays a very beautiful subtle Amethyst Color. The wheel cutting is just outstanding!! The Cutting is deep and well defined. The pattern is that of Stylized Daisies and Leaves in a garland fashion that surrounds the entire top rolled edge. The bottom foot also has this cutting but with only the leaves showing. The petals in flowers have deep wheel cut veining which gives these flowers their added appeal.
The Compote is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issue to report minor scratches to bowl and bottom foot. This is quite common for an 80 year old piece. The piece is not signed but is has the same feel as other Pairpoint Compote I have had in the past. Pairpoint Glass was the same quality level of Steuben Colored Glass at the turn of the century.
The wheel cutting in this compote is not as commonly found as the Grape and Leaves. The turned edge make this piece quite desirable. I'm quite sure the buyer will be pleased with their purchase. This Compote was made Circa 1920-1925. « Less

For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by Josef Rindskopf of Bohemia which is now modern day Czech Republic. I call this pattern line a Bulbous Double Gourd Bud More »
For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by Josef Rindskopf of Bohemia which is now modern day Czech Republic. I call this pattern line a Bulbous Double Gourd Bud Vase. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 8 9/16" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter at the top at the bottom Gourd. The foot of the vase has a diameter of 2 3/4".
The Vase displays a wonderful Double Gourd Form with a long neck to receive a long stem Rose. It has a molded bottom with a raised vertical zipper like pattern that surrounds the entire bulbous bottom. The glass composition is similar to Loetz's silberiris decor but I feel much prettier. The Bud Vase bleeds from the top a wonderful Teal Green and getting ever so lighter as it works it way down to the Bulbous bottom. Then green transitions into a lime green and a Cypriot type textured yellow at the bottom. The entire Vase has iridescence to it with the top showing a deep purple blue iridescence unlit.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Vase has a polished top rim with no pontil on the bottom. This means the Vase was blown from the top into a mold and cut and polished. The Vase is unsigned as is the case with Rindskopf Art Glass Vessels. This Vase more than likely had a paper label at one time. This is documented decor from the Rindskopf but this is the first time I have ever seen it on this shape and with this glass composition.
This is a Beautiful hand made Vase and quite Rare to find. I have been dealing in Art Glass for almost 40 years and this is the first time I have ever had this form with this pattern. Subsequently I would consider this a Rare piece. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This Vase was made at the turn of the century, Circa 1900-1910. « Less

For Sale is a lovely vase made by Thomas Webb & Sons of Amblecote near Stourbridge, England. This shape is a Flower Form or Floriform known as a Jack in the Pulpit Vase. The More »
For Sale is a lovely vase made by Thomas Webb & Sons of Amblecote near Stourbridge, England. This shape is a Flower Form or Floriform known as a Jack in the Pulpit Vase. The Vase has some size to it as it stands 10 7/8" tall. The face has a diameter of 5 3/4" and the foot has a diameter of 2 7/8".
This Flower Form shows three colors. It has a Cranberry with white opalescence Face blown into a clear green base glass. It sits on a round foot that is also a clear green in color. There is a clear green stem that rises up from the round foot and meet the cranberry glass about half way up the stem. The face of the Pulpit has an outstanding Ruffled border with the top and bottom of the face displaying pulled points. The Cranberry Stem that rises up from the clear green stem from the foot has very vertical fine ribbing. The white opalescence on the back side outer edges give this beautiful piece of Art Glass its added appeal.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. This vase is made the same way and has the same quality level of L.C.T. Tiffany Favrile and Steuben Glass. This piece of art glass predates these two outstanding American Glass Houses. The vase is unsigned and it displays a rough Pontil. This Vase is very clean inside and out and it is quite light in weight. It is extremely delicate and it is amazing that this has survived over 130 years without any damage. It shows very little signs of use. The outer bottom border shows minor scratches. It appears to have been a Cabinet piece most if not all of its life.
This is a lovely flower form vase that is not so commonly found. It was made during the Victorian era and I'm quite sure it influenced both Tiffany and Steuben Glass houses in America into making their own. This style of vase was made to resemble the Jack in the Pulpit Flower. This wonder vase was made, Circa 1870-1885. « Less
