Antique Art Deco 5 Light Chandelier with Original Shades
Not every chandelier made during the Depression in Art Deco style was a slip shade light. This is a fine example of an Art Deco chandelier, with its original glass shades, that was made circa 1938.
The finish is totally original. Interesting mock wood grain elements, with nickel plated main body parts. A very striking combo.
The shades are a combination of custard glass with clear elements, and very nicely done too.

Art Deco Odeon Theatre Pair of Clam Shell Sconces
Very neat shell motif British theatre sconces.
These sconces are often called Odeon Lights, since the main movie house chain in Britain has named all their theatres "Odeon". In fact...Odeon is often a synonymous term for a movie theatre, i.e. "Let's go to the Odeon". These sconces could be supplied with frosted, or amber, and even pink tinted shades around the turn of the century.
As shown, these particular shades are amber glass shades mounted in a nickel plated frame. They are a bit unusual to have bottom rotary switches, as most British sconces did not have them because they were used in commercial theaters. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more.
We have re-wired these sconces to UL American standards, in our UL listed shop, with new American medium based sockets. We also replaced the British push button switch with an American rotary switch of the period. Each sconce takes a single 100 watt bulb.
These sconces are ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit, which we will supply.
Measurements:
* Height: 9"
* Width: 10 ½"
* Projection: 4" from the wall into the room.
Price: $764.50 for the nice pair of UL re-wired sconces with rotary switches...plus shipping charges.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Very Scarce Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. Martele Chandelier
Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. of Coraopolis, PA was one of America's finest glass makers before and during the Great Depression. This Martele example is dated between 1931 and 1936.
Unfortunately...Consolidated went bankrupt no less than three times during the Depression. They made outstanding consumer products, i.e. vases, bowls etc., and most outstanding shades and lighting. And everything that they made was the absolute BEST quality America had to offer to the world. Elaborating designs from the French Exposition Des Arts Decoratifs of 1925, they brought out some absolutely wonderful shade and fixture designs. They made shades for their own lighting line, and for other lighting manufacturers such as Moe Bridges. They were simply a great company.
This chandelier comes from Consolidated's own Martele Line, and has a pewter-finished frame with five of their outstanding Martele shades.
Overall Light Measurements:
* Hang Height: 24"
* Diameter: 17"
This chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets to conform to UL guidelines. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb...but...we would recommend LED bulbs to protect the now older glass shades.
Complete, UL rewired, scarce, five shade, Martele Chandelier by Consolidated Glass is valued at $1,925.00...plus careful shipping.
$50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Very Scarce Virden Art Deco Chateau Sconces
Being reluctant to use the word rare, since it is way overused in the antique business, let's just say that these sconces are very scarce indeed.
Virden made them circa 1930 - 1935. They called the TWO fixtures that were in this line: Chateau (i.e. the Chateau Line). In only a few of their catalogs of that age is there ONE page that shows ONE chandelier (with two mounting options) and this sconce. That's it. Only two items in the line. Made in very limited numbers, this pair of sconces is very uncommon indeed. Information courtesy of the Kelly Art Deco Light Museum.
The frames were always cast iron with what Virden called a Bank Bronze Finish. Bank Bronze is a red bronze finish with darkened accents. The finish of these sconces is gorgeous.
The shade is a delicate muted amber, and MUCH taller than almost every other slip shade of the slip shade era. Virden also offered an opal shade, which they called Ivory, but our sconces came with these lovely muted amber shades.
Virden was a larger company, so we do not know why this Chateau line is so scarce. Perhaps they dropped it during the Depression...perhaps there was a problem with the larger size of the shade for the smaller 20s-30s apartments of the era...or in the making of them due to their glass size. We just know...scarce. These are the very first Chateau sconces that we have ever sold. The only other known sconce and chandelier are in the Kelly Art Deco Light Museum.
Measurements:
* Height: 12 ¾"
* Width: 6 ½"
* Projection: 4 ¼" from the wall into the room.
Electrical: These Chateau sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. New normal sockets for everyday medium base bulbs have been installed in each sconce, along with a new rotary switch of the original kind. The sconces mount with one normal mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
For the complete pair of scarce Virden documented Chateau sconces: $1,485.00 plus careful packaging and shipping.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Antique Original Lincoln 5 Light Low Ceiling Chandelier

Antique Original Lincoln 5 Light Low Ceiling Chandelier
Outstanding original antique five light chandelier, circa 1935, made by Lincoln Lighting Products of Detroit, Michigan.
Art Deco lighting enthusiasts will recognize the shades as the same ones used on Lincoln's Fleur-de-Lis series, but this is a much scarcer light fixture. Yes, these are the correct shades for it.
As curators of the only American Art Deco Lighting Museum, we are familiar with this lovely light. Note the design of the shade matching the design on the bowl. Perfect match. These were always designed to go together, and what a striking appeal it has too.
This chandelier has been rewired in our UL shop, and it still has the ambiance of a 1930s light. Five new high-end sockets, with wiring, were installed.
The finish of the self-colored aluminum frame is very nice. It has a lovely pewter contrast, as hopefully the pictures show.
The details of the shades are outstanding. These shades were originally supplied both as a clear/frosted and orange/amber. Orange/amber is normally preferred, and was more expensive. This fixture's shades are in very good condition with some VERY minor flaking around the fitters, which is extremely hard to see unless you were right up to the light and looking very hard for them.
Measurements:
* Height: 14" from the ceiling to the bottom of the finial.
* Diameter: 18 ½" (shade-tip to shade-tip)
A full mounting kit will be provided, so there will be nothing else to buy...or do...before mounting this beauty.
Price: $962.50 for the completely re-wired, UL approved, authentic Lincoln antique chandelier in great condition. Shipping is a bit extra.
$50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Gold Finished Pair of Globe Slip Shade Art Deco Sconces
Cast iron, painted polychrome gold sconces made by Globe in the 1930s.
Globe is a unique company, and not as common as Lincoln or Markel, but they did some very exciting things. Their brand name was Electrolier, and while some folks assume that there was a company named Electrolier, it was simply a brand that Globe marketed and impressed into many of their castings.
The shades are in wonderful condition, without any chips or cracks other than a tiny bit of roughness where they go into the frame.
85% of the gold polychrome finish is just about mint.
Measurements:
** Height: 10 ½"
** Width: 6 ½"
** Projection: 5 ½" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and lead wire. Each socket can handle a 100 watt bulb. Comes with a complete mounting kit...so...these sconces are ready to hang and begin life in a different Art Deco or Bungalow atmosphere.
Price: $825.00 for a UL restored pair of Globe Electrolier sconces, complete with shades...plus a small shipping charge.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
