Unique American Art Deco Sconces Here are a pair of sconces that were made and marketed in the 1930s with very unique CUT panel designs. What gorgeous sconces, and in such wonderful condition. The cut glass amber panels are in remarkable condition. The metal is pewter finished. Measurements: * Height: 10" overall. * Width: 5" * Projection: 5 ¼" from the wall into the room. The fixture has been totally rewired in our UL shop with a chandelier socket and rotary switch. We will be supplying the mounting hardware, (crossbars) for these sconces. Deco 5 Shade Clam Shell Chandelier by Mid-West Art Deco Mid-West Streamline design five-light chandelier, with great clam shell slip shades. From the 1930s. Mid-West was an outstanding company that survived the Great Depression that took many companies out. They had a standard that they never lowered, and the resulting work shows just that. They were clever, too. They used this clam shell shade for two totally different lines. The first line catered to the Victorian tastes, with curvilinear lines and motifs. The second line embraced the new Art Deco Streamline movement of which, this chandelier is a prime example of their Streamline series. (Information courtesy of the Kelly Art Deco Light Museum.) This fine light has mixed metal finishes of polished metal contrasting with a rich old gold finish. The shades are simply fantastic. No damage at all, and have extremely rich colors. Fantastic Set of NINE Art Deco Sconces Circa 1928-32. Nice original Art Deco design nine sconces with a finish that is truly original, and simply a lovely contrast of earth colors. There is some variation...but very little differences. We have never had this many matching antique sconces in such good condition, and with such earthy tones. Measurements: * Height: 13 ½" (including the bulb) * Width: 4 ½" * Projection: 5" from the wall into the room. These sconces, we think, look best with the candle bulbs as shown, but perhaps not to everyone's taste. The socket is a normal medium base socket and can accept any bulb thereof. All sconces were completely re-wired to UL standards in our UL shop, with new sockets, lead wire, and new wax drip motif candle sleeves, as the original sleeves were simply brittle and falling apart. Mounting kits will be supplied. Sold ONLY as a complete set of NINE matching sconces with original finish, and re-wired to UL standards--$1,925.00 for all NINE of them, and will come complete with candle bulbs of your choice...clear (as pictured) or opal white or clear amber. Very clean with Streamline décor, it is a hard-to-find Art Deco Streamline chandelier. In GREAT condition too. This six shade version was always the Top-of-the-Line for any series, so when you see this chandelier, you have the best of this interesting, and hard to find, Art Deco series. The finish of the bronze-finished iron frame is very nice. It has lovely contrasts, as hopefully the pictures show. There are stains...there are discolorations...and they sure do show their age. If you are looking for antique-perfect for the home...would definitely advise against them. If you are looking for ambiance for a commercial location...or man cave...these will more than suit the bill. They are rugged...aged...and tough. The sconces are made from steel bands, and each section has one medium base socket inside. They have been rewired in our UL shop, and still have the ambiance of 1930s lights. There is a switch at the bottom of each sconce, so each can be controlled individually. Measurements: * Height: 18" tall from the top to the bottom. * Width: 7 ½" * Projection: 4 ½" from the wall into the room. Pair of Art Deco Slip Shade Wall Sconces by Markel A nice pair of Art Deco sconces made by Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, New York in the mid 30s. In fact, these are illustrated in their 1933 catalog as Series 6400 (Markel did not use names to define their lighting...only numbers). These sconces were stock numbered 6401, and were described in the 1933 catalog as "Beautiful Old English Fixtures in Modern Design". They are wonderfully cast, with a hammered backplate design in a pewter finish. There are some minor imperfections, which are not significant other than to show their history. The shades are amber, and in good...remarkable...condition. These sconces have been completely re-wired, in our UL shop, with new sockets and new rotary switches. Sockets can easily handle 100 watt incandescent bulbs. Measurements: * Height: 10 ½" overall. * Width: 5" maximum. * Projection: 5" from the wall into the room.
