this beautiful photo frame, a delicate work of Italian artisan. a micro mosaic work with incredible hand set glass pieces over shiny self stand brass frame work. marked in etch "Italy" with few numbers with limited ability to identify. incredible overwork floral design in bold and soft colors, adorn yellow flower on the top scrolled with delicacy and fabulous spring feel. it's a great piece with self needle stand. gold and white with touch of colors creates drama and pizzazz. excellent condition, all handset glasses are in tact, quite delicate, probably from post 1940's. from the top of crown to the end of scroll measuring 4.75", and the width is about 3". the thickness is about 3 mm. holds 3 x 2" photo. view http://www.designeruniquefinds.com for purchase it   « Less

This is a beautiful and detailed Antique Lithophane (Lithopane) of Die Pfalz Castle. It is marked "PPM 334" on the back, and "Die Pfalz" on the lower right corner. It measures 6-3/16" x 4-1/2". The scene includes the lovely castle on the Rhine River, mountains, a sail boat, trees and people along the bank. It is in nice condition with no cracks or chips. Please see the photos for details. Background of the great castle: On the tiny Pfalz Island in the middle of the Rhine River near Kaub Germany, stands Pfalzgrafenstein Castle. It was built for the sole purpose of generating revenue from boats traveling along the river. While Pfalzgrafenstein is one of many toll castles on the Rhine, its location in the middle of the river on the extremely small island renders it unique.   « Less

This is a lovely large antique German Lithophane. The scene is of a man and woman on a Bridge walking in opposite directions. He has a gun over his shoulder and is smoking a cigar. Her head is turned watching him. PPM 1107 7" x 5-5/8" There are no cracks or chips. There are two dark areas (very small) on the front that I believe just need to be cleaned. This is a fun Antique Lithophane marked BPM #506. It is a tavern scene, with one man standing on the right side to make a toast. There are several men seated around a barrel drinking and a man serving them is standing to the left. This porcelain art work is 6-3/4" wide and 5-1/4" tall. It is stamped "BPM," which is theorized to be Buckau Porzellan Manufaktur in Madgeburg, according to the Schiffer book Lithophanes by Margaret Carney. The letters are in script. There are no chips or cracks, but there are two large scratches on the back at the top. There is also some glue residue there. On the front, there is an angled wavy line above the mens' heads on the right. It appears to me to be part of the texture of the old wall, which is not completely smooth like the rest of the placque. Circa 1850 Rod Hung Gasolier Attributed to Cornelius, Baker Company Chandeliers with figures were popular during the 1850s. Called Allegorical Chandeliers, they were very much en vogue during this time. Chandeliers that are this early usually have had changes made to them for many reasons...i.e. conversion from gas to electricity, style changes, shades break, homes are re-located... What used to be 2 5⁄8" fitters for the shades has been changed over to the ubiquitous 1890 4" fitter shade type. And the gas keys have been modified to prevent them from cutting the electrical wire that now passes through the original gas pipe. Peter Myers' book "Gaslighting in America" also shows a rod hung chandelier with changes similar to this chandelier...page 85...illustration from the Smithsonian Institution. Other than the two main changes, we have a rather attractive four arm rod hung antique gasolier by one of the most famous makers of gasoliers for the early American gas age: Cornelius. The main giveaway is the gas key. Gas keys of this age were like signatures, and chandeliers that were never signed can often be identified by their gas key designs. The gas key on this gasolier is the same as the pictures from the Smithsonian. Now, after re-wiring in our UL shop, this gasolier (chandelier) is ready to be reinstalled into someone's nice Victorian home. Measurements: * Diameter: 29" * Height: 49"; definitely made to hang in the taller ceilings from the Victorian era. $4,950.00 for this authentic, re-wired, UL approved Cornelius, Baker Company gasolier now converted to electricity...plus freight shipping costs. Vintage ring, sterling silver and New Zealand paua shell - carved ridges design on the shell, which has beautiful iridescent colours of mauve, aqua, green and blue. Made by Ataahua, a company making New Zealand jewellery in the 1950s and 60s. It has their distinctive flying bee mark, and is stamped STG for sterling quality silver. Face of ring measures 2.4 cm by 1.5 cm. Excellent condition. Ring size is English M (USA size 6) with an internal diameter of 16.51 mm.   « Less

10ct gold band ring with twist or rope design - made by Halia. Halia is the North American equivalent of the well-known contemporary charm bracelet brand on the market here (they don't like their name mentioned if it isn't their product). This ring is one of a series of stacking rings that Halia made, all with varying motifs and stones. Some have a high-standing head so that the other stacking rings can fit in around them. This one is a band, very suitable for wear-alone or stacking, and is stamped with the Halia name and trademark, and the gold carat (10K) and the number 7000 5, which is probably the design and size. Band is 2 mm thick. Ring size is English J (USA size 4.3/4 to 5) with an internal diameter of 15.5 mm. Excellent as-new condition. (We have a few other of these stacking rings in this category).   « Less
