This is a large, antique Black Starr & Frost sterling silver repousse flowers tea ball. It is 1.8" high, 1.8" in diameter. It is marked Black Starr & Frost/Sterling on the bottom inside rim. It is inscribed J.C.Y./1905 on the front. It is hard to identify the third initial. It weighs 35.8 g. or 23 dwt. It is in good antique condition with just a couple of minor shallow dings. This ornate repousse sterling silver tea ball is decorated all over with vertical bands of masks or faces, possibly lions or the North Wind, alternating with decorative floral motifs. It is about 1.45" in diameter, 1.5" high and weighs 21 g. or 13.5 dwt. It is marked Sterling on the inside rim of the lid, which makes it American. It is hard to believe that there is no maker's mark. The tea ball dates to about 1898. The condition is very good, no breaks, tears or major dents. The lid closes securely with the little ring in front. There are one or two minor, light dings which are masked (to make a pun) by the repousse. This is a beauty. Good sized vintage cluster ring, with pierced design, the 6 sapphires raised a tier above the 12 diamonds, with central small diamond set into white gold. Yellow gold basket mount with bevelled band 2.25 mm wide. British hallmark for 9ct gold, assayed in Birmingham, 1986. Maker's mark is L.F. Face of ring measures 16 mm diameter. ANT-527 American Pair of Truly Iconic Art Deco Design Sconces Circa 1930s, these sconces are finished in an oil rubbed bronze (near black) finish with highlights. The sconces have interesting opal shade, which has a simple band of rings near the rim. The shade is rather short, so a large light bulb will protrude. We suggest using a short profile LED light bulb, such as a type A15 or S14 with an E26 base. We will include two short LED bulbs as a courtesy. Electrical: The sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop, with normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs. The backplate has a rotary switch for on and off. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied. One backplate has a minor imperfection (with a repair), which is hardly noticeable, but must be mentioned. It does not distract from the overall affect of these sconces. Measurements: Height: 8 ½" Width: 4 ½" (maximum) Projection: 5" from the wall into the room. ANT-528 Twenties Era Wall Sconces..a Pair Lovely set of Circa 1920s wall sconces. Original antique sconces with amazing shell motif antique amber shades. These sconces have a lovely before-Depression pewter look, and a great design that is so typical of the Twenties motif. The amber shell motif shades are so very nice. They are cast glass, with a deep pattern that is nicely shaped. Admirable is how the shapes are all tied together. There is a scroll on the backplate, repeated with a scroll on the shade fitter and finial too. Even the tops of the shades repeat this curve to tie all the decorative elements together. A nice presentation. The metal of the backplates is cast metal with a lovely LIGHT pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. The shades are shorter than average, so lower profile light bulbs with a regular E26 base are recommended. These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and wire. ANT-531 Solid Bronze Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier by Mid West Mnf So nice to be able to offer another really fine light to you. Here we have one of the scarce lights of the Deco era from Mid West Mfg Circa 1935. This is the 5 light Soleure chandelier. Mid West only made the best quality lighting. This chandelier is solid bronze with a great finish. The castings are so beautiful, with lots of pierced parts which are...were...so hard to do, as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor variations, but it also has a nice mellow appearance, and most antiquers would not touch this lovely...aged bronze...finish. It is simply beautiful. This light has been totally re-wired (in our UL registered shop) with five new sockets, and a new main stem wire. Measurements: * Height: 30", but can be made longer by special request. Additional fee applies for customization. * Diameter: 20" shade tip to shade tip. * Ceiling Canopy: 7" in diameter. ANT-534 Unusual Art Deco Odeon Style British Motif Theatre Sconces A very neat shell motif set of the British theater sconces from England. These sconces are often called "Odeon Sconces," since one of the main movie house chains in Britain named all their theaters "Odeon". They vary in style...most popular was THIS shell motif. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more. Odeon is sometimes a synonymous term for a movie theater in Britain. "Let's go to the Odeon" is the same as saying, "let's go to the movies." There are two things that make this particular pair of Odeon sconces different and unusual. First...the shades are TRUE OPAL color. We have never had opal shades in Odeon sconces before. We have seen frosted, amber, pink, and even green...but never opal. Secondly, each sconce has an array of three E12 (chandelier style) sockets. Usually, these sconces have only ONE socket. The result of having three sockets is a nice, even lighting effect, which is simply lovely through the opal shades. The sconces have brass frames with an antiqued red bronze finish. We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new American chandelier sockets in our UL shop. We installed our cute LED chandelier bulbs in each sconce, and will leave them in for the next owner, as we just think that these give the perfect ambiance. Antique English draw leaf dining table or pub table with 4 dining chairs dating back to the early 1900's. These dining sets are getting harder and harder to find. It is the perfect size to seat 4 people when closed and 6 people when extended. The table top sits on top of 2 self storing leaves which pull out and the center drops down to extend the table when needed. It stands on 4 chunky turned legs which are very sturdy and strong. The back of each chair features hand carved flowers. There are 2 turned legs to the front which connect to the curved back legs with a 'H' stretcher for added stability and support. The drop in seats are upholstered in a deep red with gold diamond pattern fabric which is newer and in excellent condition. This beautiful dining set is constructed from solid English oak which has developed a nice golden oak patina. As you can see from the pictures there is lots of variations in the color and patination of the wood which only adds to its rustic old English country charm and there is minor wear throughout. Over all this is a charming aged oak dining set which is in solid, sturdy condition with minor age appropriate flaws. Dimensions: Table: width 35 1/2", length 35", Extended length 58", height 30".
