A nice pair of Art Deco sconces made by Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, New York in the mid 30s. These sconces were part of Markel's 4870 line from his catalog of 1936. They are wonderfully cast in iron, and have the original gold gilt finish with some minor imperfections which are not significant other than to show their history. The shades are amber, and in good...remarkable...condition. These sconces have been completely re-wired with new sockets and rotary switches. Sockets can easily handle 100 watt incandescent bulbs. However, if you choose to use incandescent light bulbs, we recommend no more than 60 to 65 watts to protect the glass glass from excessive heat. Measurements: Height: 11" from the top of the shade to the bottom of the ring finial. Width: 4 ½" (maximum) Projection: 6" from the wall into the room. I have pictures of the painting from before I had it restored as well. It is of a typical fall scene from Steele with water and a reflection of the trees in the water. 18ct yellow gold and platinum ring mounted with 12 small diamonds clustered around an oval solid opal . The opal has good colours of green, pink and red fire. Stones are set into platinum, with scalloped edge and platinum stepped shoulders leading into an 18ct yellow gold bevelled band. Face of ring measures 10 mm by 7 mm, with the gold band being 2 mm wide. Very dainty pretty ring, probably dating from 1930s to 50s. Very good condition, all stones present with only minor surface and age wear. Ring size is English L (USA size 5.1/2) with an internal diameter of 16.10 mm.   « Less

Face of ring measures 19 mm by 5.5 mm, and the band tapers to 3 mm at the rear of the finger. Small diamonds are set into white gold. Ring size is English Q (USA size 8) with an internal diameter of 18.19mm. Very pretty ring, and would make an excellent stacking ring or wedding band. Mid to later 20th century.   « Less
