The front and both sides have been decorated with beautiful Vie Martin hand-made paintings. They portray classical French garden scenes, and beautiful panoramic environment compositions. They show what France in that age looked like, which adds to the historical quality of this wonderful piece. It is also a very sturdy item, and has a marble top. This magnificent gold-gilded sterling silver flatware set offers a 5 piece place set for 12 with two additional pieces for a 7 piece set serving 6, plus 2 serving spoons, totaling 72 pieces, weighing in at a whopping 163.1 troy ounces. Hallmarked around 1957 by London’s illustrious Garrard & Co., (appointed as “Crown Jewelers" from 1843 - 2007) this rare set is hand finished in the Rococca "Chased Pierced Vine Pattern" was first produced by the great Victorian silversmith Frances Higgins for the Great Exhibition of 1851 and is now recognized as one of the most extraordinary silver flatware patterns in the world. The fabulous sterling silver set, gold gilded for additional protection and beauty in remarkably good condition is comprised of: 12 dinner knives 10.25” length, 12 dinner forks 8.375” length, 12 soup spoons 7” length, 12 salad forks 7.25" length , 12 teaspoons 5.81” length, 6 dessert knives 5.75” length, 6 fruit knives 5.75" length and 2 serving spoons 8.875” length. Insured shipping is free within the USA. We will ship overseas but the determined shipping and insurance cost plus a handling fee of $35-$50 will be paid by the buyer.
