Damaged, but still attractive and restorable - this shallow oblong ivory box is inlaid with rose gold, and has a gold hinge and push-button opener. It is Georgian period, dating around the late 18th century. Unfortunately, it has been broken on the rear side from the hinge to the corner. There is evidence of glue here, and it could certainly be repaired as no pieces of the ivory are missing. Currently, it is in two pieces, being the lid and the bottom case. Measurements: 12 mm high by 86 mm long and 20 mm wide. Small initials "G C" are engraved in the gold presentation panel on the lid.   « Less

While these lights were originally produced just before the true Art Deco era, they would have nicely graced a home from 1920 to 1940 with authentic ease. The frame has a nice pewter finish. The vintage light pink crackle glass shades are also in great shape. These sconces have a lovely before-depression pewter look, and a great composition that is so typical of design from the Twenties. The amber shell motif shades are so very nice. The backplates are cast metal, with a lovely light pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. 19th century brooch or pin, large twin medallion lava cameo, with one white head and one black one. Gold mount. Very good high relief detail to the two cameos. Lava cameos were popular 18th and 19th century souvenirs of trips to Italy - the lava came from Mt. Vesuvius or sometimes Mt. Etna. Brooch measures 56 mm wide by 33 mm high. The cameos are each 27 mm wide by 33 mm high. The clasp has been repaired at some time - the pin is a typical very long one (not gold), but the hook and the hinge area show repair. The face of the brooch is in very good condition, no damage to the cameos although there is a little grey patch in the carving above the helmet peak of the black cameo (to the far right side). Very attractive, unusual antique brooch.   « Less

Very fine pair of conical 19th century Victorian earrings. Carved in jet (possibly Whitby jet) with an intricate pattern of feathering, diamond hatching and rosettes at the end. Gold wires and mounts. Earrings measure 7.5 cm long from the ear. The base is 1.25 cm diameter tapering to 5 mm diameter where it meets the mount. Excellent condition.
