A rare form, Mid-nineteenth century Chinese Export sewing stand with sliding sewing bag, a central pedestal with three carved and gilded dragon feet, Lacquered wood and gilded decoration on black lacquer and with ivory instruments and fittings. The gilding and lacquered surface are in very good original condition. The pedestal base has been strengthened by the addition of a brass collar. 34" H.
