Fine bone china coffee set by prestigious English manufacturer, Shelley. Set consists of 6 cups, 6 saucers, cream jug, sugar bowl and coffee pot. Very 1950s design, not unlike Susie Cooper. Colour is a soft sage green with white applied enamel little polka dots on bone china. Pattern number is 13672/83 (or it could be 13472/83). Polka dots, could be Polestar. Backstamp dates it to the 1945-1966 period. Excellent condition.   « Less

Very nice set of precious metals weights, 9 solid brass weights ranging from 100 grams to 1 gram, and small leaf weights 500mg to 10mg. Also set of tweezers for picking these up - one empty compartment, possibly missing the 5mg. All brass weights have their own slots in the bakelite case, and the compartment containing the leaf weights is lidded in clear perspex with a brass knob. Velvet lined lid. No maker's names. Probably circa 1950s. Box measures 3.5 cm high by 7.6 cm by 15.75 cm. Box needs a clean exteriorly, but all in excellent condition.   « Less

A fine and rare pair of antique 18th century Georgian Old Sheffield Plate candelabra dating to circa 1780.With inverted tapering shafts,trumpet shaped capitals and having Armorial Crests to both candlesticks on the circular base.Old 19th century repairs to base of both shafts and base of one of the branches or arms.Do not be put off however the repairs do not detract from the overall look of the candelabra,they have a highly polished antique patina and virtually no plate loss except for the minor even wear or (bleeding) to plate on the areas of high relief,the look so desired by collectors of Old Sheffield Plate the world over.These are rare and early pieces dating as they do from about 1780.Pairs of 18th century candelabra in Old Sheffield Plate are rare with most dating from the early 19th century,usually about 1820 or so.Standing 17 inches high.Price quoted includes free tracked,insured and signed for worldwide shipping.   « Less

I have two original Salvador Dali two sided medals, one in silver and one in bronze. The silver is $250, and the bronze is $150. The image of Dionysus on the Unicorn and Dali's initials appear on the front (obverse), and Dionysus and Pallas Athena with Dali's signature, the date 1966 on the reverse. They are 1-1/4" in diameter. The side of the silver medal is marked with the cornucopia hallmark of the Paris Mint followed by a "1" with a star to indicate the purity of the silver, plus the mark 925 for sterling. The side of the bronze medal is marked with the cornucopia hallmark of the Paris Mint, plus BR for bronze. I have owned these medals for 15-20 years and have not touched them. The condition is excellent. The size is ideal for setting in a bezel to make a pendant or pin, which would make a great gift for a man or a woman. In the following year 1967 the Paris Mint issued a pair of medals in silver on behalf of the French medal club. These medals are larger, about 10" in diameter, and one medal has the unicorn image, the second medal has the Pallas Athena image, with inscriptions on the back. As far as I have been able to determine, my medal is the earliest version. I guarantee that my medals are authentic. This Japanese Arita Imari Kwan Yin is 12.5" high and weighs about 4 lbs. She is seated and dressed in colorful robes. There is a child in her lap that appears to be holding a scepter. There are two children in colorful robes on the bottom right and left and a white dragon at her feet. On her right is a pillar with a brownish red vase, and on her left is a rolled up scroll. Bonham's in NY has identified this Kwan Yin as Japanese Arita ware, dating to the 19th century with an estimate of $800-1200. The condition is pretty good, with a light spider hairline on the back at the neck, not visible from the front.   « Less
