FIX pieces were made during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco Era from 1890-1920. The reason they marked the pieces FIX is because the gold was so heavily applied that unscrupulous individuals were selling these pieces as solid gold. This is a lovely Art Nouveau design. All of the old cut and rose cut diamonds making up the dragonfly's wings and tail are very nice averaging I color and VS-2 clarity. The center ruby is oval shaped and measures .20 carats. There are lots of copies of Art Nouveau dragonfly pins and brooches out there today, this is an original one in superb condition. It measures 1-1/4 inches from the top of the dragonfly antenna to the bottom of its tail. From wing tip to wing tip it measures 1-1/2 inches. Weight 5.2 grams.
