Antique Williamson 5 Light Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier
Here is a 1930's chandelier designed and made by R. Williamson & Co., and marketed in the 1930s by Beardslee, who had bought the Williamson company for their excellent designs.
This light has retained its original Deco polychrome color finish, which has been very beautifully maintained. Every lovely decorated metal panel of this great light is impressed with the Beardslee logo.
What a gorgeous fixture, and in such wonderful condition! The shades are in fantastic condition, too.
Measurements:
* Height: 26"
* Diameter: 17"
* Canopy Diameter: 5 5/8"
The fixture has been totally rewired, and done with the utmost care. The sockets are new by Leviton...and are the identical type that Williamson used in the 1930s. The goal was to maintain the originality of the fixture as much as possible. And...it does...look great. Each socket is rated for 100 watts, so achieving 500 watts of light is very easy to do. We will also be supplying the bracket (crossbar) for this light so literally, you can hang this light and have it working minutes after receiving it.
Really an outstanding light.
Price: $1,375.00 plus shipping. A great value for an outstanding, scarce, rewired, and signed Antique Art Deco Chandelier.
$50.00 for careful packing and shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

Degué glass More »
The maker of the shade is Degué. It is signed “Ros,†which was a synonym for the french art glass company known as Degué in Deco times.
Degué glass was destined for the collections of the few privileged Americans and French able to afford them. These extravagant works were rarely seen outside the homes of such collectors, but influenced the taste and fashions of the day through their appearance in exhibitions and magazines of the late 1920's. The glassware made up to 1930 was colourful, whereas the items made after 1930 were frosted and more subdued, in response to the Great Depression.
In 1936, due to the great strikes, the Degué glassworks stopped operating. It was officially closed in 1939 at the outbreak of WWII.
The Degué center bowl of this chandelier is made out of Degué’s typically thick-walled, molded glass and shows a great, strict geometrical décor, as well as the pattern of grapes. It is tinted a soft baby-blue with a frosted surface. There are a couple of bubbles on the edge of the glass in one area, denoting the hand made nature of this Art Deco light. It is signed “ROS†in script on one surface.
The metal of the frame is nickel plated.
This ceiling bowl has been totally re-wired in our UL listed workshop, with a new American socket cluster containing three sockets, and it is ready to go.
Measurements: The overall height is 18â€. The maximum width (shade) is 13 1/2â€.
$650.00 for the complete French Degué restored ceiling light, plus $50.00 for careful packing and Ground Shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.
