32 large antique dinner plates bearing a central crest and motto. "The Dragon's Crest is to be Feared" (Metuenda Corolla Draconis), motto of the English Tempesta family, originally a war cry or slogan. No idea where these plates came from, whether it be once a stately home, a hotel, or even a regiment. Navy blue borders with gold band. The rear has the stamp of the retailer, A.B & R.P. Daniell, Wigmore St, London. Dates from circa 1860 to 1917, when Daniells closed. Plates are 26cm diameter. Condition: some of the plates have wear to the crest, but overall, there is a good selection of excellent plates. Damage is as follows: 7 excellent plates, all crests etc intact; 12 with slight wear to crest and printed areas; 10 worn crests, but plates still good. 2 with small chips, 1 with faint hairline star crack to centre. Wonderful antique three-arm cast iron chandelier, with its polychrome finish, circa early 1900s. The chandelier begins with a canopy ornamented with a stylized egg and dart band and polychrome accents. The fixture works down in chain to an oversized decorative finial that extends downward in a scrolling foliate design. Three arms extend from the bottom of the chandelier forming the domed ring-style body, foliate accents ornament the surface of the fixture. This chandelier is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier measures 9-3/4" wide, 13-1/2" tall, and 30-5/8" long overall. NC1578-RW   « Less

This is a gorgeous antique five-light chandelier with streamlined foliate details. Dating from the 1930's, the chandelier begins with a scalloped canopy ornamented with stylized fleur-de-lis, coming down in a chain to an almond-shaped top finial accented with flowers and volutes. Five downward facing bobeches perch around the perimeter of the chandelier's bowl shaped body, the surface of which is ornamented with geometric foliate-inspired lines. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 17” wide and 16” tall, and the fixture is 27-1/2” long overall. A coordinating chandelier with a varied finish can be found with item number NC1579-RW.
