Recessed panels accent the middle portion, while the lowest section features a solid box shape. This box newel post has the expected wear as pictured. A marvelous pair of antique inverted dome chandeliers with opaline shades, dating from approximately 1910. Each chandelier features a canopy with a band of scaled foliates, extending down in three chains to the shade. Each chain is fastened to the opaline shade with a lovely urn shaped foliate design. The shades are ornamented with a gorgeous raised motif featuring urns connected with swagged bell flowers and finish in a petite acorn finial. These light fixture are in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the edges. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. Each fixture is approximately 16" wide and 28-1/2" long overall. This mantel features clean lines and understated details, making it extremely versatile and appropriate for a variety of house styles. It is crowned by a thick mantel shelf supported by a convex band of egg and dart pattern. Large squared off pilaster legs with beveled trim and grooved lines complete this beautiful mantel. This fireplace mantel is in very good antique condition with the expected wear as shown, and has been painted a dark turquoise. This is a wonderful antique five-light chandelier with intricate floral details, found in Fort Madison, IA and dating from the 1930's. The chandelier begins with an canopy ornamented with foliates and beaded lines, coming down in a chain to an elegant top finial composed of foliates and a framework of volutes. Five downward-facing bobeches are suspended from the chandelier's bowl shaped body, the surface of which is heavily ornamented with diamond shaped motifs and scrolling foliate accents. The chandelier finishes in a central medallion with batswing detailing. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
